looking for a laptop under 1k

hey guys so i am looking to buy a laptop under 1k and so far i have been looking at the ideapad y510 with the 8600gt as i still do some gaming. the only things i dont like on it are the screen res and the processor. so far i have looked at dells, gateways and hp's and i can't find anything i like that is equivelent. any suggestions? i was also thinking of taking my girlfriends t61p and buying her a new laptop but she wants something lightweight and nice looking for a pricetag of under 1k. so if you guys have any suggestions of either 2 ways lmk. thanks.
