OK so I have this MS Excel file with all the data in it for the past 10+ years that gets used for 2 months of the year each year. So I add in my 2007 columns in on the data sheet.

I go over to the sheet with the chart on it and add in the 2007 series
chart -> source data -> click on the series tab -> click on the add button and specify where the data values come from.

The problem is in the legend the 2007 in now on the bottom.

example the legend now says:

budget
2006
2005
2004
2007

Is there an easy way to re-order the legend?

Yes I know I can just click on the 2006 and copy and past the values into a new 2006 and delete the old 2006 until it is re-ordered but that seems well dumb to have to do something like that to just simply re-order the legend.

Excel help has been less than helpful (only wanting to show me howto rename a series in the legend not re-order it), and Google has failed me.

Hmm, I *think* I understand what you're asking.

Right-click on a data series and select, "Format Data Series..."

Go to the Series Order tab and you'll be able to sort the data, thus changing the order of the legend entries.

Is that what you were asking?
