MSI 785GM-E65 Realtek HD sound problems

I can't get the realtek sound drivers to install from the disc, or using realtek's generic driver. It gets right to the end of installing and then hangs and reboots. After that, it goes into a endless reboot cycle until I go into safe mode and uninstall the driver. Device manager show 2 devices with no drivers- 1 is the HD audio and the other is the HDMI. Neither work.
I'm using XP sp3. Any suggestions?

Maybe try Windows 7?

i suggest going to MSI's site and getting the drivers from there instead of using the ones on the disc..
