Need help deciding....

I'm stuck deciding on which screen to purchase, Dell 2407wfp-HC and 2707wfp?

A few question i need answering:

1. Will i notice the difference in pixel pitch? I view from a <= 30" distance.

2. Is the brightness uniformity/homogeneity the same or more on 2707wfp compared to 2407wfp-HC? if it is more, is it visible?

I don't have one, but it seems like all the reviews I read were fairly favorable for the 2707wfp, especially about the even, vivid colors. I might actually have considered one myself if Dell didn't charge tax.
 
At that distance, you might be better advised to get the 2707. I got tired of having to view 24" LCDs right up close just to see very fine details, and with my glasses, I have 20/20 vision, so my eyesight is not the issue here.
 
I've decided to go for the 2707wfp model. 1 question though, shell i go for the purchase or wait for a newer revision? e.g the 2407wfp had a lot of problems then got straightened out with newer revisions. Does everything work well with the current 2707wfp revision?

If a newer revision comes out will i be able to send it back for a firmware update etc?
