New card xfx 6950 2gb = no video detected >:(

Bought a new card today at Frys. Uninstalled my 8800gt, uninstalled the drivers. Pop in new card and the monitor tells me no signal I have a 750w psu. The fan of the card spins then it speeds up a bit and slows down again. Repeat x 100 :'( did I buy a faulty card

The fan is designed to do that. Did you run driver sweeper after uninstalling your 8800GT? Perhaps it is a motherboard incompatibility? A friend had that issue going from an 8800GT to a 5770 and needed a bios update for his motherboard.

Just return and exchange it. There's nothing we can really tell you without more information.

The mother board is an gigabyte p55a-ud3.

Did run the sweeper.
