Its been a long time since I've done this so looking at building within the next 2 months. Something that will last a couple years playing the latest and greatest at respectable frame rates, upgradable down the line would be nice. Looking for a good air cooled case and thats quiet (will upgrade fans if need to be) black is preferred with a sleek easy on the eyes look. Also i do have a micro center nearby if they have any specials.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
before the new year.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Would like SLI/Crossfire support.

Thanks for the reply, after going through all the cases I think im gonna go with the corsair, easy on the eyes and plenty of room for things now and later. Updated first post with a full build right around where I want to be.

Will I see a dramatic difference at the resolution im going to be gaming at? I dont plan on upgrading my monitor any time soon.

At the resolution you're playing at, yeah there's a difference.

Ditch the Dominator RAM as they are not worth the additional costs whatsoever. You would not notice an iota of difference between the Dominators and the G.Skill ram I chose. And that's a $100 difference.

Motherboard wise, you're really not gonna notice a difference between that EVGA motherboard and the Asus mobo I chose. It's not gonna last that much longer than the Asus P6T.

I know that picking a case is entirely subjective, but a friend of mine did a maximum dollar build minus a SSD, he picked the HAF 932 case to use. That's a really good case and it's absolutely massive.

That's a good case if you're having a hard time deciding, but as I said, picking a case is really subjective once you get past your basic needs (slideable mobo? window? top or bottom PSU slot?)
