Ok, I havent used Windows XP in a while and I want to try out some new games, so I was dowloading drivers for my hardware and I noticed that on the nvidia site, they list 2 possible drivers for my nForce 4 motherboard (Epox 9NPA+SLI). On is the nForce4 AMD/Intel X16 and one looks like a standards AMD nForce4 driver.
According to my motherboard specs from the book, I have 2 16x pcie slots. Whats confusing is that on the block diagram, it shows one slot is 16x while 2 is 8x? Does this make sence? For the record, I only have one PCIE card installed.
Anyway, I suppose my question is what driver should I use, the nForce4 AMD/Intel X16 or the standard nForce AMD driver.
Also, I seem to recall an issue I had with the driver CD when I would install the IDE driver. Now, I have a SATA Drive, but my CD/DVD Burner is on IDE, so I tried to install the SW IDE driver and when I would reboot, I would BSOD as soon as I loged in.
If I didnt install the SW IDE driver, it ran fine. Is this fixed?
Thanks!!!
Joe
