Radiator behind the 120mm fan which is pushing air through it.

I was wondering if having an open air setup like this would be cooler than having it be in a traditional case even though there are no additional fans blowing over it.

I think it is, but not really sure until I get all my components. I intend on having an OC'ed i7 920 on there. Has anybody tried using these open air stations as their main desktop pc's?
 
Yes. I run my main system 'naked' with just plastic standoffs. It's really cool, but I guess that's because:

E6320
9600GSO

don't provide much heat, anyways.

EDIT:
At max load (of any kind)

CPU Core0:37
CPU Core1:37 (or 36, but this is the little variance I will see)
GPU: 45-48C - depending on if I close my door for a few hours or not.
