PCI-E link width 2x... should be 8x.

howdy, just came across this issue.

recently i pulled and shipped my 8800gts to evga, dropped back to my 7600SLI setup for the time being.

i ran cpu-z after everything was installed and working and it's only reporting my pci-e link width as 2.

ran gpu-z as well, it's also showing the link width as 2.

so, the link width is set to 2.

i have now the sli aperture set to auto (auto, disabled) in bios so it should be rockin at 8x with the two cards going. i reverted back to disabled when that didn't solve anything.

the 7600's have worked in 8x mode before, wondering what might be wrong.

i'm gonna give the nb some more power and see how that affects things.


ed: more voltage didn't fix it. i can't for the life of me figure out what the problem could be.

bios' are different, different core revisions, different die sizes, different processes.

any ideas?
