Can you, decapitator, tell what scores you got on PS2.0, PS3.0/HDR tests, please?

great work folks! just hope that we have some on sale in the UK soon! i think im gonna wait a week or three, and then go for it (hopefully price might drop some £50!)

i get the feeling that this is going to do the business!

oh, one question to the folks who have these boards - what sort of PSUs are you running, and are they feeling the pressure?! (i know mike has pcp&c 750) - its just i just purchased a corsair hx620 in anticipation, hope it was the right decision!

The GTX box says it needs a 450 watt PSU with 30 amps or more on the 12v rail.

I tried enabling several different versions of AA through the Nvidia control panel, but none of them will work in conjunction with Oblivion's HDR.

This is what it looked like when any form of AA (4x, 8x, even 16x) was enabled in the control panel:

As you can see, no luck.

Here are some shots with 16xAF applied in the Nvidia control panel. Resolution is 1600x1200.

Call of Duty 2 with 16xS AA applied at 1024x768 resolution:

Anyone notice something wrong in this picture? :p Damn drivers.

Why are u playing at 1024? the FPS seem high enough to raise the resolution?

Because 16xS AA would be hard to notice at 1600x1200 resolution. On 1600x1200, the FPS never dips below 35 on COD2 with all settings maxed out (with regular in game 4xAA).

Yeah you're right.

you said you were getting 60 FPS outdoors in Oblivion, is that with 16AF?

Yeah you're right, I reckon you won't really notice 16xaa untill you're playing at 1920 or higher....

you said you were getting 60 FPS outdoors in Oblivion, is that with 16AF?

In Oblivion, at 1600x1200 with all sliders and video options maxed, along with 16xAF being forced in the control panel, the average foilage framerate is in the mid 40's.

COD2 looks damn smooth. Oblivion looks like crap. :p

Oblivion doesn't render far-away land with good quality, so it's blurr. However, the good-quality rendering area can be changed in the ini-file, thus making it even more demanding game for hardware. Basic value is 7x7, and upping it to 9x9 (or higher) does miracles if my memory is to be trusted.

Btw, how about Flight Simulator X with Vista and beta DX10? Does Flight Simulator allow ATM dx10, or does it need to be patched by M$ to allow the support?

It must be patched.

So far, I'm not that impressed. My current system performs similarly...oh wait thats one 8800GTX. *weep*

:p

COME ON LAUNCH DAY!!!

Meh... not impressed, especially not for $650.
Waiting for R600.

only those who are biased would not be impressed with this card, perhaps you should be in the ATI forums?

I can't decided anything regarding this card since the shipping drivers are obviously FUBAR and won't allow to show what the card can do, IQ wise. Can the two lucky guys comment on any improvements they can see so far?

We can see it has horsepower which is should since this is a whole new architechure. Too bad ATi can't get their timing down so we could see the G80 against the R600. I think it will be the G81 against the R600.

I don't like that * next to HDCP ready on the front of the box considering the rumors that is it broken. My only hope is the * is calling out it requires a HDCP ready display only.

you need to wait for some reviews to see that, have patience.

i thought the memory ran at 1.8Ghz DDR which would be 900Mhz SDR, which begs the question, why is the memory clocked to 525Mhz?
