Quickie Question

All my stuff is legit, didn't mean to imply otherwise.

I just buy a bunch of used stuff, hit sales, and trade equipment with people.

Example: A good bit of my rigs are running 60 and 80gb HDD that I picked up on Ebay for $20 each with free shipping.

I also think the only mobo I have that isn't used or Newegg opened box is my SR-2.

OK so now I have another issue. I finished a -bigadv WU and to be honest without overclocking these really aren't feasible on my Rig (took about 5 days)

So I shut down the client and changed it to -advmethods and now the client just hangs. Sometimes it will bomb out when it strats although usually it will go to "working on step 1" and then just sits there.. It is taking 100% of the CPU and seems to be pulling that (according to Task manager) but it just sits there. I let it sit for 18 hours on a 6701 and it has never changed from 1%. HFM.Net shows it as "working" but it clearly isn't. I can shut the client down and start it back up and look at the log file and it just ists at 1% with no errors.

Running Win7 x64 i7-920

Also running the ATI graphics client and it has no issues at all (chugging along at ~1 per frame (so around 4K PPD depending on the WU) but I can (and have) disabled this as well and it still does the same thing

here is the log

(as you can see this unit has been workingb on and off (depending on reboots and me starting/stopping the service to get it to work) for 2 days.. Seems a bit off

Remove the -advmethods flag, delete queue.dat and fahcore_a3.exe from your F@H directory, shut down GPU folding, and restart the CPU client. See if that works.

OK done that.. It pulled a 6014

Will report back in hopefully a short amount of time (it "should" chew thru this like no tomorrow)

It seems to be working on these at about 4 Min a frame so I will just leave it be... Gonna try turning back on GPU folding now to see how it goes.. Will report back as I know

Thanks on the assist

OK turned on GPU folding and I lose a minute a frame on the SMP but I think that is a fair trade off

yeah im going to take a guess its a 353 pt GPU WU.. those seem to take the most cpu cycles.. most of the other ones its not really that noticable.. maybe 20-30 seconds here and there..

384 Point 5742.. So I turned on GPU folding.. It went thru about 4 more steps and then did the same thing. Just hung at 5% and just sat there. Stopped and restarted it and it seems to be working again. Ahh just like the good old days when SMP folding was just starting.. Start the clint and then babysit the hell out of it. makes me want to just put 6 standard clients on here and forget it...

just fold the smp client. if your losing 1 min a fram then the gpu client is costing more than it gives back.

According to HFM I gain about 3K PPD running both so it has to be doing them both combined faster than just one (or so it would seem) I could be wrong. On the other hand if running one blows up the other (and/or vice versa) then it is hurting across the board...

4 minute time frames is around 12,000ppd 5 minutes would be around 8000-9000? how much does your card put out?

Depends on the WU but somewhere between 4-5K PPD (according to HFM)
