I've installed my Core 2 Extreme QX6700 and was impressed at the volume of the stock cooling. I can't even hear it running! I've always regarded stock Intel CPU heatsink / fans as being top quality in terms reliability during normal use (ie. not overclocking) and I've yet to see one die even after being completely caked with dust.
My question is... I plan to overclock it and I'm reliably running it right now @ 3.45 GHz. with stock cooling, unfortunately the fan is quite loud. I was wondering if I would achieve better and quieter results with a Tuniq Tower?
I've read other forum's user posts and been disappointed with the level of experience of those giving suggestions, so I was wondering if any experienced QX6700 owners had any suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
