Hello,

I was wondering if there was a raid card that had hardware raid 6 that supported 3TB drives for around $100?

Or am I stuck with software raid? If so what would you recommend?

how about dell perc H700 with BBU and 512M cache memory. I see $99 including shipping.
the item# 111413830912 on 3bay.
perc 700 and 800 manual -> http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pvaul/en/perc-technical-guidebook.pdf

Awesome, thanks for recommending this. I would of never considered Dell since in the past these were locked to drives with Dell Firmware installed only, it seems that is no longer the case.

Follow up question: How does this compare to a LSI MegaRAID 9260CV-4i?

Both seem to support 3TB+ drives with the LSI being a tad more expensive.

DELL H-SERIES CONTROLLER BLOCKING OF 3RD PARTY DRIVES
TO BE REMOVED IN Q2FY11

Not looking into detail, you can compare by yourself :D

In real world, LSI OEM(mostly dell, and ibm/lenovo,)card is always cheaper dari LSI branded

I have IBM M1015, dell H200, and dell H310 that indetical with sas2008. alot cheaper than LSI branded, Bought $60 including shipping each on 3bay.

Awesome, well Thankyou for the suggestion and helpful insight, I think I'll grab the H700.
