Replacement for spinrite for large disks

Ok spinrite does not work on 1tb or larger formated disks with the new mbr replacement. I have not tryed it on a 1.5tb without an mbr. Anyway is there a replacement (prefer free) for testing a large harddrive that is formated? Im not sure if the samsung/seatools software flips the bits durring any of there scans to see if they are working.

Are you looking to recover bad sectors as well? HDD Regenerator is another tool similar to Spinrite, but it's also very old and Im not 100% sure if it will work on large disks.
