restore backup image from WHS (new machine)

Can I use the image backup of a failed machine and "restore" it to a new machine? It'll use my old license and such anyway, but I was wondering if it would jack up activation.
 
Image Backup is essentially taking the hard drive and putting it in a new machine. If the hardware didn't change and you replaced the hard drive, you should be good to go. If the hardware changed, it might mess with activation and force you to call in, it might not. Then again, if teh hardware changed substantially enough that you're worried about activation I'd usually recommend a clean install anyhow.
 
Well, I THINK the backups on WHS are driver-free, for the most part- from what I can remember.
