RV870 might show up later than expected

I thought RV870 was code for "we don't know what we're talking about because the new GPUs are actually called Cyprus"

But the rumor would not be surprising if it was true.
 
No surprises. At this point I dont think either ATI or Nvidia have a good reason to hurry since the economy is in the tank. Concentrating on improving yields on existing chips and redisigning pcbs for better profit margins are probably higher on their priorities list.
 
Even if they didn't make new architectures/cards, a successful shrink alone would allow to have much better yields. This is just another blow that will stagnate the market further.
