Samsung reveals first ever 22 inch lcd with PVA panel

is the Lenovo out yet though? Say ships in more than 4 weeks so perhaps they are both new.

The lenovo is out, it is somewhat hard to come by though.
One customer reviewed the unit mid december '07, so it's been out a few months.

I'd assume the samsung has the same panel, but it could be different I guess. The lenovo is unique among 22" monitors in that it's s-pva and has a higher res panel than other 22" (1920x1200 vs 1680x1050) lcds. I think eizo has a 22" with either pva or ips inside as well.

It's actually humorous that behardware states the samsung is the first 22" pva, when 6 months ago they said the same thing about the lenovo. It's even funnier to note that they were written by the same author "Vincent."

I read through the specs of the Lenovo, but I can't see where it says or indicates that it's s-pva.

Lenovo doesn't state in the specs that it's s-pva, but almost no manufacturers actually state what panels they're using. If you google the l220x you'll find several websites that state that it's using a s-pva panel.

Also, the very good viewing angles of +/-89 degrees (178 degrees) indicate that it is either a VA or IPS type panel.

Isn't that just an example of how long memory of Homo Sapiens Urbanus is?

Also one user here in Finland who managed to got L220x in January measured it's average input lag to be 30ms (from 18 samples so more credible than 10 shot averages) so if that Samsung is anything like their 24" S-PVA (245T) it could have double input lag.
Like said Lenovo is rare in retail market but apparently lot of them are going to corporations through IBM all of the time, also fire in Lite-on's assembly plant month ago didn't help their availability.

Too bad it's not actually the first 22" PVA.
Not even the second, considering I'm typing this post on a 22" S-PVA from Eizo (S2231W) which was announced in mid-Nov....

...but the catch is that the Eizo uses a (...make that "the") Samsung panel... :D

I wrote up some notes of my own [short] experience over in the PRAD Forums. The panel itself has many strong, but also a few weak points, so you may want to read up PRAD's own review of the S2231W as well.
