Sega CDX doesn't play Genesis games anymore.

I have a Sega CDX unit and the Sega CD part plays games just fine but when you put a Genesis cartridge in it it throws a fit and will not run.

I have tried replacing all the capacitors on it but no go.

Any ideas?

Bought this thing for $20 15+ years ago and have loved it. Now a used working one costs around $300 :(
 
Tried cleaning the contacts on the cartridge slot? That's the big weakness on the cartridge systems.
 
Check YouTube for Adam Korilick might have name spelled wrong he collects sega stuff and has cleaning videos you could try and contact him see if he has any ideas or someone to refurbish for you.
