I have an evga 9600GSO 384 and recently got in on the cheap ASUS 9600GSO deal thinking I would SLI them but both cards take up 2 slots and I have a smallish mid-tower case that is pretty packed, so I really can't SLI them in this case. I could move everything to a full tower Rocketfish case I have but I'm really tempted to sell both of the 9600's and get a single card that will have comparable speed. Any suggestions? I don't really care whether it is ATI or Nvidia but I do care about price! Is it even doable for what the 9600's are worth?

you can get a XFX 4850 512mb $109.99 at the egg or a xfx 4870 1gb for $149.99 on the new aswell

it'll smoke the 9600GSO's. How do I know? because Ive actually had that setup. I got in on the EVGA and PNY, 9600GSO deals because I have issues.

A 250GTS is what in the old scheme... a 9800 something? Would that really be as fast as 2 9600GSO's? I hate the way Nvidia changes the naming to confuse everything...

4870 1gb or 260 216 would be the next level for you, they would both offer similar performance and are only $50 or so more than what you could get selling the 9600's.
