STALKER Yantar Question

Does anyone know of an artifact or suit or anything that protects me from the psi emissions in Yantar.

So far the only thing Ive been doing is using bandages to keep me from dying.

go back to the trader at the bar and get the mission to meet the outpost just inside yantar before heading straight there. Save the scientist, and then head back. Gotta go back through that tunnel and back through the yard, but you can get the family rifle on the way back and kill 2 birds with one stone.

Also, make sure you already went through X18. You can't get the PSI stuff until after that.

Ya that thing. Im not sure if the patch did anything, but whats with not even being able to equip it? it just sits in your inventory.
