4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.

I need a CPU, mobo, ram, and prob video cards (wanna hold up on that though)

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Ok so my computer is having some troubles so i need to upgrade some stuff. What do u guys think about this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131623 (Asus Mobo)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115222 (i3)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409 (adata 2 2GB DDR3 1600)

Thanks a lot!

I would go with a AMD Phenom II X4 Quad build instead. It will beat that Core i3 530 cpu in Photoshop.

MOBO - GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 for $84.99 $10 MIR)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128392

RAM - A-DATA 4GB DDR3 1600 for $98.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409

CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE 3.2GHZ for $160.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674

Subtotal: $344.97
Tax: $33.63
Shipping: $2.99
Total: $381.59

Well first things first: I'm too tired to lecture you on the ethical and legal issue of using an illegal OS license. So be aware: Stop being a bloody cheapskate.

Anyway, that RAM would not work with current Intel CPUs since its RAM voltage is above 1.65V. The max RAM voltage for Intel Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs is 1.65V.

Third, you're better off with an AMD build for photoshop work since you can easily get a quad-core CPU setup for less than that Intel setup:

$216 - AMD Phenom II X4 945 CPU + Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UDP3 AMD 770 ATX Motherboard Combo
$105 - G.Skill Ripjaw Series F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL 2 x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM
----
Total: $321 plus tax and shipping.

thanks for the replies guys, i guess ill go the amd route then, can u guys maybe recommened a good mobo with onboard video, i just like to have it as a back up.

Thanks!

Only $4 more than the combo I linked to earlier but has onboard video:
$220 - AMD Phenom II X4 945 CPU + Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

ok guys i got the 945 amd combo with the lat gigabyte mobo and the gskil ram linked above. Prob gonna get it friday and built it as well. Ill post some pics ;). THanks guys
