Has Ubuntu started to actually support WWAN devices?
I'm looking to jump back on the Linux bandwagon with my backup laptop but currently that laptop provides internet via ICS and a WWAN card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thank You in advance

There's support for many cards these days. Not sure about Ubuntu, but in Linux in general (the kernel devs. are the ones releasing the majority of hardware drivers).

These WWAN cards used to work as serial ports, but it seems that's no longer the case.

If you have a pick as to what card you use, no doubt there is a workable solution.

Yup, Ubuntu 8.10 supports WWAN devices. Using my verizon card right now actually.
