i tried to do emerge ut2004 on my gentoo box yesterday (well, 2 days ago now (time>12) actually) and it got an unpacking error after it had finished copying the cd's to disk. (one of the announcer packages i believe... should have written it down or something i guess) so i removed all the files to start over. i tried running the installer on disc #1 of the set (cd version
) and that fails to start at all.
any ideas? my windows died (NTLDR Missing. Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot) and i don't feel like reinstalling that yet. though that is the easy way out... anyway. help would be appreciated.
and i figure this is as good a respite as any from all the halo2 threads (to be followed by a deluge of hl2 threads)
