I definitely agree the demo was a big disappointment. May look on ebay for a cheap copy or wait 'till it's in the bargain bin somewhere. It's too bad, they had a good thing going with ut2004 imo - guess they should have taken more time and released it in '08 when it was Really finished.
As far as Epic is concerned it is finished. They made a pretty good console game for the PS3. To do that they had to dumb it down to the game pad. Consolitis, plain and simple. We have all seen what that usually does to the PC version.
I guess it is not taking off as expected because the the majority of the Unreal series's fan base plays most of their fps games on PC. In truth, I think they only bothered with a pc version so people could make mods for the PS3 version, and as a vehicle for selling their engine to other game devs.
Epic could prove me wrong by, fixing the PC version, well, into a PC version, and not what looks and feels like a console to PC port. All I expected and wanted from UT3 was UT2k4 with a graphics update, some new maps, some new models/races/characters and an additional game type or two. I don't think I am alone in that.
