Windows Media Player Replacement?

I'm currently a college student and use Ruckus for MP3s. I wanted to know if there is any low memory software that can play protected WMA audio besides Windows Media Player. I tried Windows Media Player classic, no luck.

what OS are you using?? vlc is the way to go no matter what but for extra's what OS?
