Wireless USB 802.11b Card Help

I have a linksys WUSB11 Version 2.8 card that I am using to connect to my D-link 54G router. I get decent connection strength, but I have to use the windows utility to connect, and every ten minutes, it looses connection, which is really annoying. is there any utility i can download for my card that is better then the piece that came with windows? I have windows XP by the way

The only utilities that are better are going to be provided by the card manufacturer. In the utilities they provide, disable "Windows wireless zero config" option.
 
Try upgrading the firmware on your router as well. Problems like this usually relate to the router, not the card.
