WRT54GL or DGL-4300

i cannot find a v3/v4 of the WRT54G but i was told GL is the same and i can put the DD-WRT i was talking to my cousin and he told me to look at the comparison thing on tomshardware ( http://www.tomsnetworking.com/lans_routers/charts/index.html?chart=124 ) and it shows that the dgl-4300 support a lot more simultaneous connections. My question is ... after i add the dd-wrt thing to the GL will the connections increase or is the DGL-4300 just better overall just looking to spend around $100, GL is about $60 and DGL4300 is $100 AR at newegg or $99 at Frys.com

The DGL-4300 is the better choice if you're looking for a performance soho router. The WRT54GL is the same as the dated WRT54Gv4. DD-WRT, while a great firmware package, cannot change the fact that the WRT54GL is still based on older and slower hardware.
