So since I do not travel and not planning to much in the next year I was looking to get a laptop for some light gaming (1080p games mostly). My budget is around $550-$700 at the moment.

You should buy the HP Omen 15 2020 that is listed in this forum. Is it more money yeah but's light and it has very good performance and thermal performance which alot of laptops especially intel based suffer from.
