Edit: meant to type X1900XTX

according to the new "Interactive VGA Chart" at Tom's Hardware - I would be better off buying an X1900XTX rather than adding a 7800GT for SLI. (currently I have a 7800 GT CO from evga). Since I can't freaking FIND any 7800GT CO's (N517 model) at my usual stores, I'm starting to get interested in the X1900XT or XTX...

compare the two with other 1600*1200 benchmarks - it looks like the X1900XTX beats out the 7800gt sli in everything... Does that seem right? Can anyone confirm this?

You might be slightly better off performance wise but your wallet will be a little lighter.

I can't imagine the difference being more than 5-10 percent across the board and that doesn't seem like reason enough to spend another 100-150 bucks to go with the ATI.

Now if you sold your 1 7800 GT and put it toward the cost of the new ATI card plus what you were going to spend on an SLI setup you might come out ahead a little.

Also as far as benchmarks goes.

Yes I would sell it as soon as I got the ATI card - I should easily get $275 or slightly more for my 7800GT on ebay.

Yeah well according to that chart the X1800 beats you too.

Which is like $300.
