I wonder if this lines up with any monitor for PLP. It really wouldn't be PLP, it would be LLL, bu the left and right monitors would already be sized correctly.
I could see an awesome PLP type setup that actually works because eyefinity/etc would support it.
If you aren't worried about gaming, the closest you'll come are Dell 2107FP.
You can do a perfect match with a certain 14" laptop panel, but it's a LOT of work to do right.
They are not 3k. They can be had for between $850 and $1000.
Personally, if you want to go cheap (but only game on the center), do what I did. Purchase a $300 120hz 27" korean and put two dell 2107fp on either side. You can't do eyefinity PLP well, but its a beast for productivity and I think...
You're honestly better off with the 34" 1440p 21:9 panels. If you want the side monitors for productivity, pick up a couple of dell 2170fp for $50 on craigslist.
I would go for the 970 and plan to pick up another for SLI in the nearish future. I agree that at stock, 1440p should be about the same on both, but SLI will be necessary for the 4k 40".
SLI with much less power consumption and quieter...

After using for a while now, another con is the heat coming off the old monitors. Makes sense seeing as they have high power consumption, but it does get warm being that it is summer.
Many say the gel is a scam and doesn't actually work. Also it supposedly breaks down into a gooey mess eventually.
Standard high density memory foam beds are supposed to be the best.
