Just built a 2500k conservatively @ 4.3ghz and I use atitool to "scan for artifacts" while running prime95 and 4 concurrent sessions of cpuburn to test stability.
450w PSU and from the wall under load it's consuming 325w, whenever the video card is loaded I hear some high pitched noise, it...
i7-2600k/p8p67 LE
how's prime95 in-place fft, 8 threads cpu-z 1.56.3 reports 1.264-1.272v, 4327mhz and load temps do not exceed 60c (coretemp 99.8)
good conservative, stable, overclock?
ordered a 212+ we'll give it a try, probably blow it upward towards the intake of the PSU 120mm fan, tried stock cooler and coolermaster "silent1156" both were well into the 90s at 4120mhz/1.264v
update: only happens when i've manually selected 1600mhz for the DDR speed (it is 1600mhz ram but board detects it as 1333)
sounds like a bios problem?
When restoring power the first boot will not post, red light stays illuminated. Must turn power off with power button then turn back on where it posts no problem and runs stable.
Is there a bios update for this board that fixes this?
@ stock freqency it'll hold 78-80c, ambient temp of 70f.
Is this average? It runs fine simply upping the multiplier to 42 for 4200mhz, but temps start getting into the 90s so I assume an aftermarket cooler is REQUIRED for overclocking?
Still using ghost from a bootable USB drive to clone damaged hard drives, is there a better product these days that works outside the operating system to recover/clone drives?
I guess what I meant to say was I wanted AT LEAST e8400 performance, 4gb ram, 64bit Windows7 and a sizable HD.
Went with E8400, 1tb black HD, 4gb ram, Intel 43GT mobo for $500 shipped
Building a box for my gf's parents, they'll just be using the web, itunes and other minor demand applications. They DO NOT need a dedicated video card.
For under $500 i'm thinking an E8400, intel 43GT board, 4GB ram, WD 6400AAKS HD and an optical drive... seem like the most economical...
I'm running a IP35/e8400@4050mhz/4gb ram and switched my WD7500AAKS to a WD6400AAKS, hdtune puts the 7500 @ 75mb/sec avg while the 6400 does 88mb/sec with a better burst and latency, this is with vista 64bit and ahci intel matrix driver 8.2
is this *THE* fastest drive I can run single drive...
So these are a good bit quicker than my WD7500AAKS eh?
I'm running the 750 on a IP35, Vista SP1, AHCI w/ latest matrix storage driver... HD TUNE results:
min: 46.6
max: 96.4
avg: 73.9
access: 13.9
burst: 121
cpu: 4.4
....and I thought these were king of SATA hill lol, worth...
