I have this issue as well on m Thinkpad T440p.. What's the rest of your setup? I'm having issues using mDP -> DVI (Apple adapter) in Windows 8.1 Pro; using the Intel HD4600 to output.. which might be the issue as well. Also tried mDP -> HDMI adapter and cable, which doesn't have issues...

yes I have been using the UBCD and that is how I have been getting to the hitachi fitness test, which said everything on the HDD was A O.K.
