Just upgraded my K100D to the K200D, better all the way around, plus I love the water/dust seals. It's unbelievable in rain!
K200D
Sigma 70-300mm Macro
Tamron 18-250mm
On my wishlist is the 10-17mm Fisheye lens and the 50mm FA 1.4 lens.
The reason I buy Pentax is because my dad had...
1. I would take my old computer(XP2400 oc'ed to 2.2ghz) and give it to my 3 kids so they can share it for school use and gaming. Then I would build a new computer around this processor for photo post-processing and get back into gaming with up to date games that I've been wanting to play for...
For an entry level camera, it's hard to beat the price and quality of the K100D with the kit lens which is better than most kit lenses. The only downfall I have is the Auto - White balance tends to be off on indoor and night lighting. But if you're a real photographer, you'll set it manually...
I agree. I like the Canon S3 IS and it can be found for around $250 -$300 if you look around. I saw it at Fry's Electronics last week for $250. Great all around camera that can double as a video camera also with a decent 2-4GB SD card.

WOW! What a change 5 years makes! I used to be a regular customer for PCClub back then when I built systems and they used to treat everyone with great care and respect. Tech support was always helpful to me, I used to call up the B&M store(Mesa, AZ) and they'd walk me through any problems...
You'd be muuuch better off just taking the long route and backing everything to disc and doing a fresh format with fresh drivers, then deleting the old Windows installation and installing a new one. Trust me on this, you'll end up doing it anyway.
I remember running ME and thinking, at first, that it was better than 98SE but not as good as Win2k, but more user friendly. MAN, WAS I WRONG!! It would crash after 2months consistently, if you used system restore, then you were guaranteed a reformat within 2 weeks. I used to disable system...
Well, you can copy your XP disc to your harddrive, then slipstream SP2, then burn a new copy to use for the install. It only takes about 20minutes for the whole process if you have a recent cd burner. Click the link above for details.
