they've sent me a refurb once (on my like fifth 2005fpw that suffered backlighting problems). it had a huge sticker (EDIT: sticker on box) that marked it refurbished. the boxing is different and obviously so. apparently they do plug in and "test" these monitors..though their standards are low...

i thought my ps2 and gc games looked like crap on my 2005fpw. the graphics are alot smoother on tv. the graphics of gc and ps2 games look too pixely. plus there's ghosting. i am sure it's the same for it's bigger brother. just my opinion though.

i use to clean my crt screen with windex, when i didn't know better. it didn't ugly up the screen, all it did was just kill the anireflection coating and made it glossy. which wasn't too bad.
maybe you can keep cleaning it until it becomes completely...

you are pretty much guaranteed to get less eyestrain, but complete elimination depends on your eyes, distance, and usage.

i like the D-base, i also like the dell logo. i've seen a lot uglier looking screens, i find dell designs one of the better one. the only thing i would have liked more is slimmer and flat side frame.
