Plasma is still beautiful and it's image quality rivals any modern tech!

I have a ca. 2013 (I think) 65" Panasonic tv as my main viewing TV. It still looks great but I'm getting antsy now that it seems it's becoming salad days for huge tvs with low prices. Seriously considering retiring it for a 98/100" mini LED this year.

    Philips 346B1C

Just saw this announced. I'm an old fart who doesn't game much anymore but I have been considering getting back into it. I currently have a 34" Dell widescreen but saw this just got released. Seems like it might be perfect for me, I need a good USB hub and productivity features with "good...

27" gaming monitor with USB KVM..

I bought a "work" monitor (U3415W) because I thought I was done with PC gaming, but I think I might come back. Anyway, I'm looking in the 27" 1440p range, probably. Are there any 100Hz+ 27" gaming monitors with a built in USB KVM switch? What I mean by this is on my Dell I can plug in an...

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

Anybody tried using monitor to share USB keyboard and mouse? It has two USB up links to supposedly be a sort of poor man's USB kvm?

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

Yeah, same here. I think if I went multi-monitor 3 would be the right number. With 2 I would put one center and one in portrait next to it on the side. Need to be looking at pure monitor straight ahead.

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

So I just had an interesting conversation with Dell. I ordered the U3415W from Amazon so I tried to cancel my Dell order. They said it just shipped today (apparently) so I will need to just get a return label or refuse the shipment and will get a full refund. So that's fine. But he also said...

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

Hmm.. $90 cheaper, think I'll cancel my Dell order (which just had the delivery date pushed back to 2/4 from 1/29).

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

Last friday. EDIT: Though.. it says they expect it delivered on the 29th, and their order status page doesn't say "shipped" yet so I'm a little dubious now...

Mine said that when I ordered, but now it says I'll have it by EOW this week.

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

Man.. that's kind of pricey. The LX is rated to 20 pounds and the monitor is a few pounds under that, should be OK right? My monitor also is shipping early and should be here next week, looking for a mount. I was thinking of the HP branded LX - only $103, people in reviews saying it's working...

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

That's the one I used last night. Note it only seems to work on the specific Dell link they give in the article, I couldn't get it to work on the home consumer page, EPP page, etc... so make sure you go in "clean" to that URL they give.

    Dell U3415W discussion - 21:9 UltraWide (3440x1440)

Bit the bulllet, ordered this thing. Tired of waiting for decent 4K monitor 34"+. Maybe in a few years. Best I could manage was 5% cash back from discover and 10% discount code. Seems most of the stacking/EPP shenanigans don't work any more, and it won't ship for a few weeks, but maybe I'll get...

What is your "dream monitor" right now?

Oh God. If we're still into sub-4K resolutions in 2-3 years I'm going to stroke out. Double that resolution and I'm with you.

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

I'm seeing both Jack and Shite out of CES regarding decent large 4K monitors, so this is starting to look like the only game in town until maybe the Seiki (finally) comes out? Either way, wish the thing would come to the US.

HP unveils 4K, 5K, and curved displays at CES 2015

Snoozlefest for me. Don't care about < 32" screens, screens less than 4K, and barely care about <34" screens. I may bite the bullet and buy the 40" Philips if it ever comes to the US. I'm seeing a bunch of boring, dreary announcements for dreary, boring monitors.
