My Tracers are spec'd @ 2.2 and I have them running 2.0 currently. I bought this board w/ the hopes it would cooperate w/ 4 stix as well as its little brother the IP35 Pro. Good to hear from more users that I'm not just getting lucky over here.
I'm still waiting for the reviews to come...
Love it. Stable as fu*k. Even w/ 4 stix of mem and almost no tweaking, have my e6400 over 3.3 fully stable w/ barely a bump over stock volts.
Original BIOS has been great so far. Not a single reason for me to update it yet...
It runs hotter than the IP35 Pro, so dont be suprised if temps are...
Obviously if poeple are commenting on the entire year's worth of threads covering this, its surely not isolated to SP1. Its been around since the first day of release.
I'm having great luck w/ BIOS 11, but reading some other site's forums, many people opted to go with the 12-beta right away. I also see a lot of those people having little problems here and there running that beta... i dont know.
I was never much of one for beta BIOS's unless i was...
More evidence that an RMA wont help you...

My Abit IX38 is running flawlessly w/ 4 x 1gb Tracers and with a nice OC. With all the Asus bellyaches posted here in the last 6 months, I just dont get how Asus boards even make it on people's lists...
Ryck, Abit sucks at making certain files visible to users. Here's a link:
BIOS ID:11
1. Enhanced the S3 compatibility.
2. Enhanced USB keyboard and Mouse compatibility.
3. Correct the CPU/DRAM Voltage function.
4. BIOS compiled date: 10/11/2007.
I guess some boards shipped w/ BIOS...
With 4 stix or ram?! I highly doubt it. I'd probably prefer to keep undervolting my D9 chips vs overvolting them trying to get 500 stable.Although they are rated to hit that...
I may get jiggy with it and take a couple stix out just to prove a point after Abit releases another official BIOS...
Damn! Those reviews really came rolling in on Newegg today for this thing! Wrote my own as well. I think those guys w/ the Raptors just had bad luck. I guess buying Western Digital drives, you get that anyway :o (Seagate 4 LIFE)
I'm still shocked how many people buy Asus boards. I used to love their stuff but I swear lately they are using the budget AsRock parts in their line-up. The amount of unaceptable problems I see from people is ridiculous. Nothing worse than memory banks on your board that are just for...
The P35 Gigabytes have been known to handle 4 stix fairly well. I'm not a fan of buggy Asus boards.
I just threw my rig onto an Abit IX38 w/ 4 stix of ram, and they are even overclocked pretty high. Fully stable. I read the IP35 Pro can handle the same quite easilly too...
HAHA, if you only knew...thats why the pics were taken on the corner of the desk up top, if I had taken pics below where the box actually sits, you would have seen the minefield of chaos surrounding my work area.
The crime scene was definitely staged before leaving the body...:o
This weekend I copped a new Abit IX38 motherboard and 4 x 1GB of Ballistix Tracers. This replaced my insanely flaky Gigabyte 650i-DS4 and 2 x 1GB of Corsair XMS w/ the Knight-Rider LEDs that were failing memtest horribly.
First impressions of the board? WOW. Build quality, BIOS, features...
My office is in a loft that overlooks my main living area. It shares a slanted ceiling over the whole floor plan. My thermostat is set for 70, the real temp is +5-7 over that up here always. All the heat from your other 2 floors is rising into that 3rd one you're on i bet.
I felt my temps...
Those Ballistix should hit 400 easy with the right volts. What do you have them set at? I'm running mine 413 on just 2.0 currently on my first night of playing with them.
I also have a ThermalRight cooler on my e6400. Its the SI-128. My idle temps are roughly the same as yours and its...
