Star Trek Online Open Beta opens tomorrow

I came into STO with semi-high expectations, which I probably shouldn't for a game I don't already know everything about. The game itself was a bit of a let down, but I don't think I'd go as far as to say it is horrible. Space can be fun, but I can see it become a bit of a bore after a few...

    Ipod issue

Replacing iPod parts is not too difficult, but people are scrambling for the parts on eBay which brings the price up. Generally, like they said, it is best to purchase another iPod or music device as the cost of fixing the broken iPod would end up coming close, or costing more than a new one...

No more new 30inch computer screen?

There's also a bit of a difference jump between 27" and 30". The Dell 27" are just scaled up versions of their 24" screens, whereas the 30" screens require two DVI input plugs to take the information from. In my personal opinion, I don't like this whole 16:9 aspect ratio happening. TVs and...

    Dell U2410 or Dell 2408WFP?

What I don't like are the touch sensitive buttons on the Dell U2410. I would be monitor switching constantly and waiting for the touch response menu of 3 or more "clicks" is just too long. There are more inputs on the U2410 though.

    What's your screensaver?

Does anyone remember a screensaver years back that had little spaceships dogfighting in 3D space? I think a few people made mods for it, like Battle Star Galactica or Star Wars ships. I'm with everyone else and have my screen blank after 15 minutes.

Anyone here ever use the Apple Wired Keyboard?

I've been using mine for ~ 6 months and love it. Mostly because it's thing and small, so it's easier to push away when I need the desk space. Also, I've been able to plug my USB drives in the hub + I charge my cell phone w/ it. I know a lot of people experience a higher typing rate with...

Steering Wheels. Questions About Microsoft 360 Wheel and Others.

I bought a Logitech Driving Force Pro off someone for $65, which was a steal. Although now I notice Logitech just took it off their site. It might not be as new as the G25/7 but it has 900 degree steering and force feed back in the wheel. I've used it with GRiD and DiRT 2 now and it works...

Sophia Died. Thankfully she was an organ donor.

I think you'll be able to easily do it. 24" monitor, that'll definitely be easy. Just worry if you need to go higher than 27". I'm expecting about a $800 computer. What er ... organs did Sophia have so we know where you're coming from?

Best Verizon phone <$75 that isn't a smartphone?

If this contract is up for renewal, maybe. I'm using the EnV but tbh I don't like it as much as I want to, but it works at least. I'm just waiting for the right time to switch to a smart phone. Each time I think I'm just about to, someone releases another HTC phone, a newer iPhone, a Droid, a...

Google Nexus One Avail. Jan 5

Verizon doesn't use SIM cards though, so it would be impossible, no? Correct me if I'm wrong on this one. I might have to go with T-Mobile on this one ... P.S. godofdeath there isn't a hard keyboard on the feller, sorry :/ But this is suppose to be one of seven phones to come out, right?

    Dirt 2 - overhyped

To me, it's just a version of GRiD. Truth be told, the engine and everything is. I enjoy more variety of vehicles and modes than GRiD. And you really can't enjoy this game w/o a force feedback wheel with pedals. I was one of the people that had issues running this game because of...

    ugh...iTunes: Worst software *EVER*

Remember the good o'll days of Winamp? Things were so manual those days lol. iTunes is getting more and more bloated and more of a memory hog. When I try to quit now, it tells me iTunes is still doing something, no matter how long I wait and/or disconnect my iPod. Half the time I'm just...

Is AMD currently competitive dollar for dollar with the Intel i7/i5s?

In my opinion, when I invest in a computer I go all the way with the i7. Value wise, yea, you're probably getting more bang for your buck with the lower i5, but computer value drops so quickly. The extra ~$100 might give you a year longer. Also, in the end it's not how good the hardware is...
