    Don't buy LCD's from PCConnection.com

Amazon uses a drop shipper for many of their items. Who is actually selling you the monitor varies depending on what you are buying. So IMO it's hard to say that Amazon is good. Some of their drop shippers might be great and others may suck.

Well... like a dummy. I used windex on my LCD.

Wow...I have to admit I'm a little baffled as to why someone would use glass cleaner on plastic. If the screen is actually discolored now, I would say it's likely that you've permanently damaged it. The company is not going to give you a new one...why would they? It's not a defect...you damaged...

22 inch to 24 inch, big difference?

I recently bought a BenQ V2400W 24" monitor. You can get it on the BenQ online store right now for $299 and free shipping with the coupon code they give you. If you are going for a TN panel 24" monitor, I highly recommend this one. Anyways...about your question...it depends on what you are...

DVI has lower max res than VGA?

Have you actually tried changing the resolution in the control panel? If so (and it simply can't go any higher), you may need a dual link DVI cable to enable higher resolutions on that particular video card. Check your DVI cable...is it missing two rows of pins in the middle?

    looking for a 19" monitor

Why would anyone want to get a 19" monitor with all the larger monitors available at such low prices?

    Best 24" LCD <$700

Sorry, but the OP isn't located in Hungary and that's what this thread is about. People are making suggestions for him, not you. I don't mean to be harsh, but if you want to find a monitor for a certain price in Hungary, then make your own thread about it.

Using an LCD tv as an outdoor multimedia sign?

LCD's aren't going to work for outdoor advertising during the day. At night, yes. During the daylight you won't even be able to see them. They can't compete with the sun's light for brightness.

    1920x1200 vs 1920x1080 prices?

The 1920x1200 has 230,400 more pixels than the 1920x1080. You are getting an extra 120 lines of vertical resolution. IMO that is well worth any price difference for me, but then again I'm a designer and can really take advantage of the extra room when using things like Adobe's Creative Suite. If...

I have to beat the crap out of my monitor..

You aren't going to be able to fix an LCD panel on your own, man. It's not anything like a CRT. You probably have a cold solder joint somewhere in it. You'll never find it out of the thousands of solder joints in an LCD. If you do go ahead with this though, be sure to POST PICS! :D

26" too much for desktop use?

24" is probably the max I would go for a TN panel. Any bigger and you will get fairly large color shifts from top to bottom of the screen even when viewing straight on. This effect is even apparent on 24" monitors, but it's at an acceptable level.

Bugs flock to my screen, what can I do?

Obviously if you have bugs in your home then you need to call an exterminator.

    The BenQ V2400 arrived today...

It was on the desktop. There must be something else wrong with this monitor then. It's not something I'm only seeing because I have sensitive eyes...it turns the screen friggin purple...anyone could see it easily. I'm really curious how the new one will be, and also why I got such a screwed up...

    The BenQ V2400 arrived today...

And one other thing...on mine the photo, dynamics and movie modes give the screen a strong magenta hue. It looks terrible if you are actually in the OS. If your entire screen is filled with a video or a picture it's OK, but it still looks strongly magenta to me. These modes are supposed to kick...

    LCD monitor for gaming.

I'm using a V2400W and playing QuakeLive on it. No noticable lag at all IMO. Digital Versus is bullshit. Real tests of the V2400W show that it has less than one frame input lag, so basically non existent. Stopwatch photos show that the V2400W is showing the same thing as the test CRT sitting...

    The BenQ V2400 arrived today...

UPS is going to pick it up tomorrow. They offered free shipping without even having to ask for it. Great customer service. I have a question though. The customer service guy said I need to have the RMA number he gave me on the box. Do I also need to make a label with an address, or does the UPS...
