Amazon uses a drop shipper for many of their items. Who is actually selling you the monitor varies depending on what you are buying. So IMO it's hard to say that Amazon is good. Some of their drop shippers might be great and others may suck.
Wow...I have to admit I'm a little baffled as to why someone would use glass cleaner on plastic. If the screen is actually discolored now, I would say it's likely that you've permanently damaged it. The company is not going to give you a new one...why would they? It's not a defect...you damaged...
I recently bought a BenQ V2400W 24" monitor. You can get it on the BenQ online store right now for $299 and free shipping with the coupon code they give you. If you are going for a TN panel 24" monitor, I highly recommend this one.
Anyways...about your question...it depends on what you are...
Have you actually tried changing the resolution in the control panel? If so (and it simply can't go any higher), you may need a dual link DVI cable to enable higher resolutions on that particular video card. Check your DVI cable...is it missing two rows of pins in the middle?
Sorry, but the OP isn't located in Hungary and that's what this thread is about. People are making suggestions for him, not you. I don't mean to be harsh, but if you want to find a monitor for a certain price in Hungary, then make your own thread about it.
LCD's aren't going to work for outdoor advertising during the day. At night, yes. During the daylight you won't even be able to see them. They can't compete with the sun's light for brightness.
The 1920x1200 has 230,400 more pixels than the 1920x1080. You are getting an extra 120 lines of vertical resolution. IMO that is well worth any price difference for me, but then again I'm a designer and can really take advantage of the extra room when using things like Adobe's Creative Suite. If...
You aren't going to be able to fix an LCD panel on your own, man. It's not anything like a CRT. You probably have a cold solder joint somewhere in it. You'll never find it out of the thousands of solder joints in an LCD. If you do go ahead with this though, be sure to POST PICS! :D
24" is probably the max I would go for a TN panel. Any bigger and you will get fairly large color shifts from top to bottom of the screen even when viewing straight on. This effect is even apparent on 24" monitors, but it's at an acceptable level.
It was on the desktop. There must be something else wrong with this monitor then. It's not something I'm only seeing because I have sensitive eyes...it turns the screen friggin purple...anyone could see it easily. I'm really curious how the new one will be, and also why I got such a screwed up...
And one other thing...on mine the photo, dynamics and movie modes give the screen a strong magenta hue. It looks terrible if you are actually in the OS. If your entire screen is filled with a video or a picture it's OK, but it still looks strongly magenta to me. These modes are supposed to kick...
I'm using a V2400W and playing QuakeLive on it. No noticable lag at all IMO. Digital Versus is bullshit. Real tests of the V2400W show that it has less than one frame input lag, so basically non existent. Stopwatch photos show that the V2400W is showing the same thing as the test CRT sitting...
UPS is going to pick it up tomorrow. They offered free shipping without even having to ask for it. Great customer service. I have a question though. The customer service guy said I need to have the RMA number he gave me on the box. Do I also need to make a label with an address, or does the UPS...
I got it from the BenQ online store, so yes it will be easy to return. I'm going to call them today about it.
I'm definitely not downgrading to a 22". I'll have BenQ send me another V2400W and see if it's better.
Thank you for the advice, guys. I'm not sure what I want to do. I adjusted the brightness and contrast to where I like it a little better and it made the horizontal band less apparent, though it's still there. I'm going to use it over the weekend and make my decision monday. Other than this...
I'm a bit disappointed. The monitor looks great for the most part. No dead pixels and the colors are vibrant. It's really a great looking monitor. However, if you turn the screen all one color (white, red, green, blue, whatever) there is some SERIOUS unevenness in the backlight. There is a...
Yeah I don't know if you're going to find an IPS in that resolution. They are targeted toward designers, and most would prefer a full 1200 horizontal lines. I could be wrong though. You might find a smaller television with an IPS panel that would work for you though. Couldn't you also use a 24"...
Auto adjust is automatically disabled when you are using DVI. That's the case on all monitors. It's only used for VGA connection. The bars around the image seems like a simple setting.
Did you read my post? I've had access to TN's, IPS and CRT. I've tested all 3 ina design environment, so I think I can make an educated comparison.
You don't have to accept my opinion. I'm just putting it out there. Designing on a TN is not at difficult as many people here indicate. Sure, an...
I think your room mate did something to screw up the DVI port. I mean they don't just fail mysteriously for no reason, and there is no way that a power surge would fry a DVI port anyways. Not to mention, if the power strip was off, then the surge wouldn't have hit the monitor anyways. He...
A lot of people here will instantly recommend an IPS over a TN. I've been a graphic designer for 13 years and 9 of those professionally. I've worked on TN, IPS and of course CRT (usually Trinitrons). I respect the opinions of the people on this forum, but in a way they are the extreme cork...
 I just ordered one...can't wait to get it next week.
About the Acers, I used an Acer X223Wbd for about a week and found it to be a poor display in terms of image quality. It looked massively over saturated, and I couldn't fix it after adjusting the settings. I don't know if the X/H233H...
I just ordered a BenQ V2400W from the BenQ store. It's supposed to have almost non-existant lag as well as a great image. $299 shipped if you enter the coupon code "V2400W" when you check out. I'll post back when I receive it.
So I ordered the V2400W from the BenQ store today. I'm excited...I'm going to this from a 19" Hyundai B90A. Got the V2400W for $299 shipped with their $40 discount.
One question though...When I viewed the product in their store, it was listed as in stock and able to ship in 1-2 days. After...
