Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some assistance limiting the bandwidth usage on my fireTV. My son watches cartoons and the download usage spikes to 25Mb+, causing my Xbox to lag severely when I'm trying to game. I have a 30/5Mb connection.
First of all, I can't imagine why a kid's cartoon show...
This is actually the problem for BBM. They have a finite amount of money they can get out of their customers. And it's not like they're growing their customer base.
Whereas, Facebook can now sell ads to a multitude of companies for Whatsapp to reach 450+ million people. There is an untold...
The only problem with the $60 price tag, is that you can buy it for about half that cost from a 3rd party power-leveling service. Yes, it carries some risk but you also wind up with all the gold, items and achievements from the leveling.
Obviously, YMMV and it's against the ToS. But if...
I think that was previously confirmed. There are 3:
Stryder - Lightweight, fast, less armor
Atlas - Mixture of speed and armor
Ogre - Heavy, slow, more armor
I didn't read through the entire thread, but I'll just leave this here. There is A LOT more content coming in the release which will change the gameplay significantly from the current BETA. Including, plasma/arc guns, rail guns, turrets, mines, etc. Multiplayer campaign mode for all you 'story...
I should clarify my previous post. I normally use the monitor for desktop and gaming at 1080 (at which I would get considerable tearing).
Viewing the video you posted above at 2160p did cause some flashing at certain transition points, but no tearing. YouTube is horrible though, so I'm...
I would get terrible screen tearing on mine as well using the stock firmware. It would happen no matter what the resolution, refresh, v-synch were set to. Flashing the 50" firmware seems to have resolved it, at least for me.
This one works well, too...
Can anyone explain why they don't offer tiered service plans? $8/month is fine for the old content, but I think a lot of people would gladly pay ... say, $16/month plan for newer stuff. Why limit it to one plan only?
Why are people so upset about this? It's a niche game, sure, but they just raised aprox. $25million in additional capital to help develop the game and pay their people. This was previously an ARMA 2 mod which they worked on for a couple years for free. I think they should get paid and I'm glad...
You should check the full list, there are some very good movies which will no longer be available;
Braveheart
The Rundown
Jarhead
Desperado
Titanic
Top Gun
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
and more ...
I understand they need to unload movies from time to time in order to reduce...
Is there a way to enable GPU scaling at 1920x1080@120Hz or 2560x1440@60Hz?
When I switch to GPU scaling, the only supported resolutions are 1080p@60Hz (with the monitor displaying 1080p@60Hz) and 2560x1440@30Hz(with the monitor is displaying 3840x2160@30Hz).

As a currnet TWC customer, I am slightly concerned about Charter's "Network Managment" policies. I have no other options for high speed internet access in my area, besides DSL which would be a huge downgrade in...
Is there a way to enable the custom resolutions and utilize GPU scaling? I have a Radeon 7950 with Windows 7.
The panel scaling is a nightmare with any non-native resolutions (except 1080). Everything gets really blurry.
For text input, maybe.
Both PS4 and XBone have the capability to used Keyboards and Mice, but it's up to the developers to enable and support it. Currently, there are no known titles which allow native keyboard/mouse support.
Both Cronus and XIM are working on PS4 support, but it's not likely on their current hardware. Look for new devices from both which should offer PS4 supprot over the next couple months.
Be careful. As I noted above, the Cronus alone is not a great solution if you're used to playing on a PC...
As a long time XIM user, I hear this over and over again and it's simply not true. In our Call of Duty 'clan' we have a good mixture of XIM users and controller users. Average K/D ratio for XIM users is between 1.3 - 1.5, average K/D ratio for controller users is 1.8 - 2.0.
Granted, if you...
Exactly. Why the hell would I want to stream GoT from Chromecast to my TV when it's already on my cable box?!
This seems like an odd move, unless they are going to start pricing for folks who don't have a cable subscription.
The lag may not bother 'some' people but it bothers me. Even with Aero switched off, there is noticeable input lag at native res. Because of this and the blurriness caused by the in-between resolutions, I'm stuck at 1080 for now.
You mentioned a possible firmware update to fix the scaling...
Just picked up the 39 inch version from Amazon. I wish I had taken the time to do more research because there is very little benefit of having this as a desktop monitor.
Basically you're capped at 1080 @ 120Hz for desktop use. 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz creates a laggy desktop experience in Windows and...
Even though consoles have been banned since 2000, they still play lots of World of Warcraft and other PC games. It will be interesting to see what affect this will have on the PC-gaming market.
Not to mention the fact that the Chinese gov't will still regulate which games can be purchased by...
QFT. The average age of gamers now is 30 years old. People have families, spouses, visitors, etc. that don't need/want to see a giant white box with a neon green ring in their entertainment center. This is another big reason for the integration with set top boxes and cable services. They're...
So they're putting the Phone guy in charge of all Operating systems and the Windows 8 lady in charge of Xbox/Entertainment? Doesn't seem to make much sense to move people from failing/underperforming product lines into successful ones. I smell further disaster in the Windows NT and Xbox worlds...
Couldn't agree more. I want to roundhouse this guy everytime I see him. I don't know if it's his oversized head or his gaming-t-shirt-under-sports-coat attire, but he annoys the living crap out of me.
Hoping to avoid eBay fees if possible. Thanks for looking.

This is exactly why the USPS is so far in the hole. They continue to provide sub-par customer service and horrible tracking. I haven't used USPS to ship anything in years, but they used to not even consider a package 'missing' unless it's been 14 days since the shipping date. 14 days!
Why the...
I don't think anyone is comparing humans to roaches. There is simply no benefit to this, other than pure entertainment. It serves no other purpose than to torture and maim roaches. Simply killing them should be enough.
They're not experimenting on roaches, they're using them for personal enjoyment/entertainment.
Both articles you linked to US-based research were voluntary, and did not cause permanent disability or death. Comparing those to the Nazi experiments (ie. sections of bones, muscles, and nerves...
I agree, this price point puts it out of reach for A LOT of people. They could have released a version without the Kinect for $399 and made it a lot more palatable.
I'm waiting for the subsidized plans.
