I have 3 WD15EADS-00P8B0 drives in my software raid5 in linux, and i have had performance issue since i bought them over 1 year ago, and i recently figured out that it is a problem with this model. They get hickups all the time. i haven't found any solution to the problem yet and i will have to...
none of the ASUS P5K boards have 3 USABLE pci slots the ones that have 3pci have the pci just under the pcie and the graphic cooler is blocking that slot then...
Was going to start a new thread but i'm puting my question in here because the topic is the same. hope you don't mind.
I'm looking for a mobo to go with a Q6600 and DDR2 that I'm about to buy. I'm looking a good OC and a fanless motherboard. And the most important I must have 3PCI slots that...
Hi I'm planing on getting a core2 duo cpu and is wondering witch cpu block have the best cooling performance in a 5-7 l/h flow system. The ones i can get my hand on is the following:
WaterChill DYO - CPU Cooler (LGA775)
Alphacool NexXxos XP Light, Intel775
Zalman WB4 GOLD CPU
and some...
The Black ice pro is not very air restrictive so any fans will do just fine. But it depend on how cold you want your water to be and how much heat your systems produce. But for silent setups it is one of the best for low flow fans.
But the noize vs. air flow is not very good on that fan i...
I have been looking for a ram drive for several months now. And I can't find a good working one.
I want the folowing options in the program:
1. Up to 2GB size
2. Mounted and already formated on startup.
Optional:
3. Resize without reboot. Or remove without reboot (to get the ram back to...

I didn't mean to be rude or anything, I don't know if this forum is an international forum or anything, but the thing is that the metric system is the most used around the world, and I'm glad that i have it. I just feel sorry for you all that have to calculate...
I can give you some tips before you buy.
Messure twice, buy once. I messured wrong and had some hard time fitting the rad where I planed in the begining.
And Messure twice, cut once.
For the tubing, the big fat tubes look nice but they have no effect if you have a small opening some where...
They will disapear after a while, and if they don't they often don't do any harm if they are just sitting there. The only bad about bubbles is if they are circulating in the system then they can harm the pump if its long runtime with bubbles.
3/16" tubing that is the smallest I have heard of...
The reason i thought mounting a rad at the bottom is bad is if i blow in air my small 80mm fans cant blow out all air. And the diffrent to have it at the bottom or front is no diffrent at all.
My self i have it on the bottom and the air is not blow in or out, its blown around, I havn't cut the...
It is all very strange. But 47C is a lot cooler than 57C and all that by refitting and playing around. Are you messuring at full load on the cpu? beacause that is the best way to messure and get the same results. The temp can diff up to 20C between load and idle. So you should allways messure at...
Can you stick to one type of messure method please, all this mix make you confused.
You messure the room i F and your cpu in C, can you messure the room in C too it will be nice. And you can calculate the temps easy.
If you have 23C in your room and 40C on your cpu. And the room rise by 5...
I'm a litle negative to use glycol, if you get one drop of it inside you you will die if you don't go to your hospital and replace you liver. Humans and dogs are the only creatures you can save after eating glycol. And the chance to survive is, well not 100%.
Sorry posted wrong... it was supposed to go in this thread http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=932818 as a normal post.
Cant find the delete button..
Have anti-freeze any bad sides??
Is there anything bad about using anti-freeze?? And is the anti-freeze you all talk about normal Ethylene glycol ( C2H4O + H2O → HOCH2CH2OH )
Can it react to plastic, silicone or anything else in the system??
Have it any effect on ?surface tention? (the...

52-70 is imposible with a normal ambient temp change. If you incresse the ambient temp by 5C you will get 5C higher cpu temp. So unless there was 18 degrees higher room temp between tests there is something else that have changed.
eeh, TN did you think of fahrenheit?? because 52C is not close...
Holy crap, I think the big icons in xp is terrible and takes to much "workspace" But look at the icons in Vista, It's just a big joke! why do you whant them to be THAT big?

The biggest improvment was, and i mean was, the new file system using a database like file system. But the latest news i heard about that was that it was not going to be released in longhorn. It was called WinFS. It was not even certain if it was going to be released in the next os after longhorn.
Just to clear things out. When you first got the watercooling you had about 37C (or 98F) on you cpu when the system had been on for some hours or weeks, not just the bootup temp. Then after about a month you have 57C (or 135F). Are you sure you didn't do anything between that time that can...
Do you think I'm interesting in cs tactics??, when i play cs i play maps like de_rats, and i play for FUN and a fun game is a fast game.
This thread is so point less.
It all depends. If you play a 1on1 game of quake you don't whant to camp it is just boring.
If you play a 4on4 game of cs you don't want camper either because it is more fun to play a fast game.
If you play a "big world more like real life game" like operation flashpoint, or a "ww2 sneak in...
when you "first got watercooling" how long did you run before the temps got high, and how low where they at first. If you can messure the watertemp, (I do it by just sicking a thermometer to the bottom of my T-line lookalike res) mesure the different in watertemp and cpu temp to see if the block...
I don't know that kind of weather you have but where I live ve have summer for 3 month, and the rest of the year have a average temprature of -10C to 10C. And cool your rad with air temp of 0C is nice, you might don't need a fan if you have it outside it is blowing already and the water temp...
You are not going to be able to freeze enough ice to just keep throwing in not with a normal fridge. I will think of this when it is snowing outside. Just go outside make a big hard snow ball and throw in..
I have thought of puting my rad outside the window in the winter when its -20 outside...
54C is very good temp for overclock and stock cooler. And for that high overclock I don't think you can get so much more out of it if you lower the temps more.
Dust in the rad maybe?
How low temps did you have in the begining? How much water do you have in you system? Have you messured watertemp?
If you have much water in your system it takes some time to heat up all the water. I have 200ml in my system and it takes 1 hour to reach max temp when I'm...
I meant to put a cable from the fans circuit board to the 3pin connector on the motherboard.
And the 3-lines fans ARE expencive and I already have about 20 2-lines. And they don't sell 3pin 3-lines 120mm Papst at my local stores.
The only reason why bottom mounted rad is bad is because if you blow air in from the rad you will heatup the air inside your case with the warm water. And if you blow air out from the bottom you are going against the air is going up theory but that is not as bad as it sounds.
Mounting the rad...
Can you put a own cable from the fan to get a rpm signal. All fans have a empty conector for rpm on the board in the fan. Can you use it or is the electronics inside to messure rpm removed?
I have 80mm papst 12 db and 120mm papst, all without rpm cables. And lots of noname fans.
I was...
If you have a low speed fan 1-2 cm is enough. It is easy to test by holding you hand and ear to the fan and moving you case up and down and feel if you get less airflow.
Does you rad have any walls around the fins or can the air get in from the side of the rad? if the air can get in from the...
