They offer a 30 day trial period via both Amazon (which follows Amazon's normal return policies) and their site.
These look awesome on paper, but information on them in the wild is sparse.
I would say they are worth a try.
I would use RCA where possible. It may not matter at all for the sound, but 1/8" TRS is physically a pretty horrible standard with poor strain relief and other issues.
I understand its need for mobile, but for a stationary setup you might as well use RCA whenever possible.
Full sun through those windows will be difficult to deal with, and also keep in mind that the larger the screen, the more light output you need.
If you want to go the projector route, you need to look at "living room" versus "home theater" projectors. Depending on the price level, you will most...
Judging from the green trim around the door frame, it looks like perspective distortion is what is causing the monitors to appear to be mounted at an odd angle, which in turn is mostly likely due to the lens used.
Focus on the stereo versus 5.1 argument. As the ButtKicker is not a true speaker, I would consider compression levels irrelevant.
How does your converter handle stereo and 5.1 for the sub out? Does it have a crossover?
For the ButtKicker, I would imagine you'd want all the low frequencies sent...
It sounds like at lest some manufacturers are correcting this issue, which is good to see.
When I first purchased my current work/side project laptop, the best connection available to me was Mini DisplayPort, and I soon learned that the Mini DisplayPort cable market was a minefield of...
Maybe, even discrete cards sometimes have issues depending on their placement in the case and shielding (but most reputable ones should not).
Are you using any form of front audio jacks or are you connected directly into the IO panel in the back?
Same price range as the A2+:

What is your budget?
Do you have space constraints to take into consideration?
Oh come on now. As a fellow Aeron owner, I can say with fairly good certainty that you had been looking for any excuse possible to upgrade to the Embody the first chance you got. I have no sympathy. :p
That being said, how are you adjusting to the Envelop? I'll be honest; I have heard mixed...
I do not see something like this as being made with temps or easy-of-use in mind. It is a statement piece. And while there is nothing innately wrong with that, I would not purchase this case assuming any other benefit will be had over the competition.
Interference can also travel from the video card(s) to the sound card(s) via their respective PCI brackets, especially within steel cases with little or no paint on the PCI slot shield.
Auzentech (now-defunct) had several cards which were notoriously susceptible to this, and I am sure they...
Foam isolation I would agree with, but (metal) speaker spikes are not there to isolate vibrations (although an isolating washer may be placed under the spikes themselves). Instead, they generally are there to anchor the speaker or stand in place, especially on carpet, in an attempt to prevent...
Regarding THD, if you are curious, it looks like this particular amp hits 1% THD at 50W/Channel into 8 ohms and at 65W/Channel into 6 ohms (essentially where dandragonrage figured it would be).
It is also worth noting that even if SMSL overstated the amp's power, most persons overestimate how...
It looks like it comes from biomorph:
http://www.biomorphdesk.com/personal (most likely)
or
http://www.biomorphdesk.com/flexo
or possibly an older model.
Honestly, they have nothing to gain from being straight up about finances to the general public. This is not a public company, and the investors, current and potential, would assume liability by doing so.
Anyway, I hope everything works out for them. It would be a shame to see another...
On the question of RCA to RCA versus 3.5mm to RCA, use straight RCA to RCA. In general, if there is no need to use an adapter, then do not use an adapter, and 3.5mm jacks are less durable than their full-size counterparts, including RCA.
As far as cables go, unless you are talking about long...
I'll echo what others have said, you are not a proper candidate for an Air. The Pro line is going to be more your style, and even then I would steer towards the 15 inch model for the four physical cores.
Opening 20+ tabs alongside large PDFs is going to eat through the standard 4GB of Air...
Since these speakers come up in threads with relative frequency on this forum, I figured I would give anyone looking for these a heads up.

Just under 10 hours remaining as of this posting, and unfortunately it looks like...
I believe he means that you can not use wall plate connectors such as:
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=104&cp_id=10425&cs_id=1042501&p_id=7330&seq=1&format=2
Otherwise, if you are merely running the cable through the wall versus around a couch, etc., then the only other things you would...
Those tiles in the background are diffusors and the foam "accordion" in the middle is an absorption panel, both are part of acoustically treating his room to prevent unwanted echoes and reverberations which may negatively impact listening conditions. Diffusors accomplish this by scattering sound...
Love the collection!
And props to having the guts to mount the B-Wing that way. I have that model as well, and it is far from the most stable model. But I love the look of having its primary airfoil float without a surface underneath as it removes some of the awkwardness of that ship as a...
The only reference I see to that drive being a Blu-ray drive is in the listing name.
Blu-ray requires an entirely different (blue versus red) laser to read the disks. So there aren't any magical "DVD-only" drives which are capable of reading Blu-rays.
And it's not just the direct interest from the card(s). It seems like many, even most people do not realize how carrying a high utilization ratio effects future and current interest rates on loans and cards. Even employment opportunities can be effected.
Against their competitors, e.g. other wireless whole-home solutions, their speaker quality is quite good, probably the best out there when talking about all-in-one solutions (excluding some "if you have to ask" and niche installer solutions). And even against discrete systems their sound quality...
I have always used Intel NICs. They are reliable, consistent, and have consistently had the highest sustained transfer speeds between my workstation and my NAS. I really cannot ask for anything more.
And while they may be $25 each (assuming you do not have the option of on-board Intel), nothing...
Why not utilize the HDMI cable you already have and use that for audio? You can look for a soundbar with native HDMI support, or otherwise most TVs have optical or some other audio output. (Typically this second option will only support stereo audio, however, if you have an HDMI source.)
Another vote for just replacing it. Once the surround begins separating from the cone (on older speakers), something, be it the glue or the surround itself, has dried out and become brittle. In other words, the separation is a symptom of a more general problem.
The last time woot.com had the OMD line in stock was last month (March ~15 through to early April for some models). Before that, it was maybe a few months ago. The recent deals were mostly for the tower and bookshelf speakers. Center and surround channels from the OMD line (OMD-C1, OMD-C2, and...
OP, it looks like you have likely moved on, but Mirage's OMD line has been making semi-frequent appearances on woot.com:
http://www.woot.com/plus/mirage-home-theater-speakers
(They are currently sold out, however.)
Also, Mirage has, as per my experience this past year, been honoring warranties...
Someone else already alluded to this, but have you tried contacting Lian-Li directly?
I have gone to their support line before and left a support ticket asking after discontinued parts for one of my cases. In my case I stated that the missing pieces were my fault, and I left it up to them to...
Belkin is sort of a mixed bag. Generally their quality is good, if not overpriced. But they do have some misses. I would take their marketed protection with a grain of salt though.
But they do have some seemingly out of place offerings which are actually pretty practical and priced quite well...
Cambridge Audio is more of a well regarded budget brand than a high end outfit.
This is to say that their speaker pricing is more in line with middle range of Polk Audio than with, say, Bowers & Wilkins (just to pick another UK brand). I have not dealt enough with the brand to say anything as...
Yes, some people buy Ferraris. And enjoy them. You do not have to. Nor does anyone else. And I personally would never get one, irrespective of my financial situation, yet I love that they exist and would never wish otherwise.
I do not own a CaseLabs case, and it might be that I never will. I...
A lot of material (in this case aluminium) goes into making a case akin to the TX10. It is not just the dimensions, panel thickness plays a large roll as well, and CaseLabs uses thick panels in their cases. You may be able to get a (mostly) steel case or a thin-paneled aluminium case for $78...
MSI Big Bang-XPower (X58)
Like many others, I still have not found any dire need to upgrade to another socket. I upgraded the RAM from 6 GB to 12 GB before the Corsair XMS I was using was discontinued. And a video card refresh has kept things current in that direction.
We'll see what the...
An individually sleeved extension cables may be flexible enough for your use case.
Otherwise I suppose you could replace the headers on the video card with vertical variants, assuming that your soldering skills are up to the task. (Do note, the PCIe power headers have thick pins, these will...
Your speakers have their own internal amplification and are just fine using (and in fact expected to use) the line out of your sound card.
Secondly, the Sound Blaster Z has an amplified headphone output, so I would stick with using that.
That is a single link adapter. Above 1920x1200 requires a dual link adapter. These are much more expensive, around $50-100, and do not work all that well.
Anyway, use the native dual link DVI port (lower DVI port) to connect your higher resolution monitor and use a mDP to (single link) DVI...
Yes to using the mDP to DVI adapter, but I checked again and I do not believe the mini DisplayPort outputs to be dual-mode. (I initially thought they would be.)
Anyway, still use the adapter, but just make sure that it is active. A passive adapter will not work without dual-mode support.
