AMD has massive driver overhead compared to NVIDIA and [H] is using OC'd 3770K instead of something super expensive like OC'd Haswell-E.
This might explain the poor results in [H] benchmarks. If you are selecting a GPU and have weaker CPU like old Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge then [H]...
From the [H] review:
What keyboard were you using? My Microsoft Sidewinder X4 had exactly the same problem with Asrock Z68 Extreme 4 until I turned "Legacy USB 3.0 Support" option to "Enabled". My old PS/2 KB worked percetly with that option disabled though.
edit: I must say I find it...
He deserves no apology.
Let's consider the facts:
1. He never corrected his IPC claims and even claimed that anyone saying IPC decreases had agenda or was paid by Intel.
2. Bulldozer pre-launch FAQ in Overclock.net. He kept bullshitting people to the very end.
3. He got people banned on...
Is there anything smaller than m-ITX avaible currently? I'm not interested in those old VIA boards with shitty CPUs. I wonder if there are any ARM based solutions that can run Linux and are powerful enough for HD video?
So AMD cards have poor tesselation performance. Upcoming benchmark includes lots of tesselation and AMD asks them to tune it down to get the benchmark run better on their products. Developers refuse and AMD decides to degrade the tesselation quality via their drivers.
And all you people blame...
I want a copy of this game so I can take it to range and shoot it to smitherens with my AK and then take the remains back home and put them to blender and then burn the blended stuff to ashes. Just BeCause they didn't make DX9 renderer and I can't play the damn game on XP.
Plus my plan fails...
So apparently there's a way to tell if your MSI P6N SLI series motherboard supports 45nm CPUs or not. MSI support had responded to one MSI forum poster that if the MB has QC number 01, 02 or 03 it won't work with 45nm CPUs. QC number is on small transparent round sticker somewhere near the CPU...
When doing power consumption tests with Furmark you need to rename the Furmark.exe on ATI products because the drivers detect it and automatically degrade performance.
Generally dual-slot variants run cooler and quieter. They also exhaust portion of the hot air out of case instead of letting it heat the ambient temperature of other components.
Why not getting a dual slot solution like these:

I played AoC for 4 months (what a waste of time in that POS) and while AoC is technically much more advanced and better looking LotRO has much bigger world and vast open areas while in AoC a map is usually 2km*2km or smaller and requires zoning when moving from area to another. AoC is heavily...
WTF?
What kinda rig are you playing this game on if the graphics aren't as good as WoW?
I have played this game for 1,5 years (SoA, not MoM) and there is absolutely no comparison between LotRO and WoW graphics, LotRO beats WoW hands down.
IMHO LotRO is the best PvE MMO there is. The...
I would laugh if last 3 of my video cards didn't fail on me.
GF7900GTO, lasted 6 months.
HD4870 512MB, lasted 1 month.
GF8800GTS 640MB, lasted 16 or 17 months I think.
Never had RAM, CPU or HDD fail, only one motherboard, couple a PSUs and optical drives have failed on me while 6 out...
Kinda ruins the idea of "netbook" when the price is around $2k. Yeah, UMPCs have been around forever but the new cheap netbook concept is something new.
Most likely not going to happen because of the power requirements. You have very little space to fit battery and cooling solution in a netbook. Even the new dual-core Atom 330 with 8W TDP is too much for netbooks and manufacturers have to wait for lower TDP model.
One error:
When he takes the PC apart and shows the Intel 945 chipset he is actually pointing to the ICH7 south bridge. The 945 chipset is located under the heatspreader.
My PowerColor HD4870 did the same thing...
I got it to boot with image coming for DVI now and then and it worked fine if I didn't let my monitor go to standby. I could close the monitor and power it up again with no problems once the card booted as long as it didn't go to standby.
That is...
I have HD4870 but I couldn't care less for DX10.1 or DX10 because Vista is so damn expensive. Vista Home Premium is as expensive as HD4870 here. OEM versions are out of question because you aren't allowed to change your computers motherboard if you have OEM Vista.
My post wasn't aimed at you but those couple of guys who said that HD4870 heat output isn't problem at all because older cards can run at higher temps... So they just mixed heat output and temperatures together.
It's not about how hot the card gets but how much heat it pumps out to your room. 160W is equal to 4 40W light bulbs. Take 4*40W light bulbs and but them under your table by your legs and you know how people with HD4870 equipped PCs under their tables feel.
Heck, even Voodoo 3 2000 ran at...
I tried CnQ once with a PC equipped with A64 X2 5000+ BE CPU. With CnQ enabled it didn't raise clocks over 2GHz even in heavy load no matter what I did. So I couldn't do anything else but disable CnQ on that PC :/
I just browsed through some Finnish and German webshops and none had price cuts on 9800GTX
HD4850 was as cheap as 140 but 9800GTX was still way over 200.
Did Europeans get screwed by NVIDIA or what is the deal here?
I had that card too a long time ago. I bought it used in 2002 and used it about ½ year before buying GF4 Ti4200 128MB. It was much faster than my previous GF2 MX :D.
Damn, nostalgia makes me always post offtopic posts...
This is utter bullshit.
Accelero S2 weight: 268g
DuOrb weight: 324g
VF1000 weight: 380g
Accelero S2 design is very simply, yet very effective. It uses copper base and 4 heatpipes to spread heat to the light weight aluminium fins with lots of surface area.
And you can zip-tie any fan...
