most gigabyte z68 boards come with virtu which allows you to use a discreet graphics card and use intergrated graphics for Quick sync and even allows for on the fly switching with monitor being plugged into only one (either into mobo hdmi or discreet card)
i would go with the quad because the cost isn't a big factor between the 2 and the quads are going to be utilized more in the future and any kind of video editing or converting the quads perform better, and with high def soon to be the standard video files are going to be larger than ever
Well personally i would recommend a board that uses ddr 2 memory, the asus blitz formula is what i got about a month ago and it's great , probably hard to get now so i would probably get a gigabyte or an asus p35 board with ddr 2 memory.
the ddr 3 memory is ALOT more exspensive and not really...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820176825
these are great I have 3 and all still work
well i see it supports memory stick pro but not the pro duo sorry
leave it on,if you are going to use the DVR functionality of it then if you turn it off it will not record the programs scheduled, most people when building a HTPC keep this in mind and usually go for cooler and quieter parts, and for a HTPC you don't really need an overclocked processor or...
Yep ,Probably gonna need a power supply enginurd caught that, and you may also need an adapter i know dell used to make the plugs on their power supplys and motherboards different so you would have to buy replacements from them, but i don't know if thats still the case i'm sure someone will post...
Newegg usually only has 2 or 3 models with a very low number of customer reviews
they are usually out of stock, and the prices don't seem to be dropping, just wonder if anyones got one and if they felt it was worth the money
i would like one but they got to get alot cheaper around the$100 or...
i had something like that before i can't remember what exactly but i couldn't erase it so i used partition magic to just delete and format the whole partition
check out toms hardware vga charts and you can compare cards and it will show you how many frames per second each card will get ,it's great for comparing cards
well if you run xp and are not concearned with dx 10 then i would suggest the 7900 gs
i know it performs well because i had the evga version and i loved it
well i would go with the q6600 for a processor and as for a motherboard just make sure to choose one where the sata plugs plug straight in ,not pluging in from the side of the board
i have that same case and my asus blitz edition board has the sata ports at the very edge of the board pluging in...
i believe it should work just be sure to check that the case that the computer is in will accecpt standard sized cards ,alot of dells and other computers are in micro cases that only accecpt (half height) or low profile cards, but i do believe that most of the mobo with that chipset do have a pci...
i used a dell 20' widescreen for a bedroom television it worked great, but the 19' models are cheaper but they are right on the borderline of being too small i guess it depends how far you are gonna be viewing from but you may want to go to wal mart or somewhere and physically check them out in...
no way don't do it those temps are fine , processors can handle alot of heat the first dual core i had was a pentium D from gateway and that processor idle temp was about 60 degrees and at load would hit 70 and that computer which i sold to a friend is still running strong after a couple of...
well if you think your present card may struggle with a 22" maybe you could settle for a 19" widescreen my dad just got one with his new computer from dell and it looked great and it is a nice step-up from a 17" screen and your present card could power it easier
"just a thought" 1400x900
i have a similar system on an asus blitz edition board running FSB @ 336
and memory @ 1008 5-5-5-15 2:3 ratio
if you are running your memory with a 1:1 ratio you ought to be able to run at 4-4-4-12 timings. I'm no expert this system i built a few weeks ago is my first real exsperience with...
well i like the 520 also and that is what i have in my system but the 450 has plenty of power for the system being built but the 520 would allow for future upgrades
such as running 2 vid cards in SLI mode plus the modular cables are nice
they got a 7900 gs at newegg for $119 and check out tom's hardware reviews video card chart you can select 2 different cards and then pick a game or benchmarking test and it will show you the frames per second and help let you see what the difference would be
i had a similar problem when i wanted to put my computer into a new case, after i did it would start up ,fans would spin and then it would cut off and then it would come back on
but then it would not boot or anything. what i did was unhook everything except the memory ,monitor and video card...
i don't know of a way to do it with windows (but there may be a way)but there are some programs that do it maybe you can find one for free at download.com or just put your file on your computer and format the thumbdrive , give it to your friend and then when he's done put your file back on...
well for those that can get through HL2 in 4 to 8 hours that really makes me feel like i suck since i been playing it about 2 weeks now and think i'm only about 1/3 of the way through it.
Maybe i'll get better just kind of new to gaming on a pc
check out the 7900 GS it has 256 mb memory and 256 bit interface it is a powerful card
and if you want to you can add another later if you keep your SLI board
the 8600 gt only has 128 bit interface and it holds it back, probably even more so when using in SLI mode
but no DX 10
well if you got the money to get an 8800 ultra and a q6700 i would get a good mobo,i have an 8800 gtx and a q6600 and i went with the asus blitz edition that uses the ddr2 memory and i love it ,i know it was exspensive but i feel that it was worth it even though i don't even use watercooling...
well with cable modems you only get 1 . you have to connect that to a router that will give you more connections . i tried to get 2 cable modems once and they said that if i did i would have to pay double . so get an ethernet cable and run it to the other computer (its like a telephone wire)...
well you could hook up a regular monitor to it and use it as a desktop, which may not be too appealing but someone who didn't have a computer that would be better than nothing
as far as selling it it's worth something but not much considering from dell you can get a desktop with a 19"...
what i would do is connect it to the network by running an ethernet cable from the router upstairs to the computer downstairs, you can buy the cables real cheap at newegg in 50 ft ,and 100 ft lenghts i believe , then just drill a hole in an out of the way spot like in the closet floor, then you...
Newegg Rep. Newegg is my favorite and most trusted place to buy parts but one thing Newegg needs to do is speed up it's offerings of new parts, the last 2 processors i got i had to get from club it because i got my first core 2 duo from them because they had them first, then my new Quad (Q...
tried vista 64 for 2 days went back to xp media center edition( xp ultimate)
too buggy ,annoying, and didn't care how they changed stuff and renamed things and re arranged things. It took a while to teach my wife and daughter how to use the SHARED documents folders on our home network and for...
well i would recommend xp media center edition over either, i had vista 64 for 2 days and then went back to xp , but if i had 2 choose between vista i would recommend the 32 bit edition unless you plan on having more than 3 gb memory, that is the biggest advantage to the 64 bit OS is that it has...
well i got vista 64 and tried it for a couple of days and went back to xp media center edition
most of my issues were with vista as a whole, alot of software wouldn't work but i don't think it would of worked with vista 32 bit either, but what wouldn't work for me was norton ghost and core temp...
for that set-up the corsair 450 has plenty of power and a 5 year warrenty, the only thing is it doesn't have modular cables, but its a nice power supply, the 520 corsair has modular cables and 2 pci power connections and is what you would need for an 8800 gtx, but if i were you i'd get the 450...
I REALLY got it bad then because i got an 8800 GTX, would you please trade me your 320 8800 gts so i can get more frames per second on my dell 24" monitor ? since it came pre overclocked and all, besides all that xtra memory is slowing me way down
the program is joost, i think it has potential its now available to everyone
anyone else tried it? what do you think? needs more content and to be updated more frequently but i think that it will as soon as advertising revenue builds a little
ps has compatibility problems with spy doctor so...
joost is available for everyone now,i checked it out i think it's got potential but the program offerings are kind of lame for my taste although there is some good stuff, especially if your into mtv realworld type stuff, what does everybody else think?
ps. has conflicts with spy doctor so if you...
