I feel embarrassed asking what seems to be such a rudimentary question, but I can't seem to find what I need/want.
I have a Norco 16-bay that has a SAS backplane with 4 SAS connectors (1 for each row of 4 hot-swap bays). I'm currently using two RAID cards, an Adaptec 5805 and the LSI card, that...
You're doing it right. For those rails, the only way (I think) to mount the ears is to have them in front of the post like you have it. By the way, I have the same rack and just installed the same rails like 5 minutes ago.
Two things: 1. You can loosen the two nuts on the front piece that...
A lot of the negative reviews are probably created just to be contrarian; a lot of the positive reviews are probably from people who can't possibly dislike anything Star Wars. If I was in the 8-25 year old range, I probably would have liked it more than I did.
I did like the movie, but I was...
I didn't even know he was famous for playing Minecraft, but when I looked at the picture of the house I thought to myself "that looks like something my nephew could build in Minecraft." Fits perfect.
1. I would consider it.
2. Yes if it's not considerably more expensive then buying the two separately, and I'd like for it to be re-usable on future cards.
Thanks for doing this.
I just wanted to quickly chime-in and make sure you know that that case is not really "small." I have two of them, and they are great cases, but to look at them in person you might mistake them for mid-towers. Again, great cases, but just make sure they are the size you want. They are bigger...
My father received a similar call about a month ago. Luckily, I happened to be there and he handed me the phone. The guy on the phone identified himself as "Jack Cooper" with a thick accent and said he worked for "Windows." I asked "Where are you calling from 'Jack'?" and he replied "Denver. I...
IPMI allows you to connect to the machine remotely while it's powered off (plugged in) or before the operating system loads so you can get into the BIOS, SCSI settings, etc. It's like you are at the console as opposed to something like Remote Desktop or VNC which requires an operating system to...
I've seen these sold, but it looks like someone just bent the wires and zip-tied them. I wouldn't buy them, but you can Google "pci-e power 90 degree" to see what I mean.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
VMWare ESXi host. I may even duplicate this to do testing and learn about multiple hosts (vMotion, etc.). I'll be installing on a 4GB USB drive.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Under $1,000

I love AMD/ATI and have been using their cards for the last 12 years, the same amount of time I've devoted my life to my job...which just laid me off about an hour ago. Nothing lasts forever...except of course the great price/performance ratio of AMD cards. :D
Maybe set it up to span your desktop across the two screens and open what you want the customers to see full-screen on the monitor? You can use the laptop screen as your primary display, and unless you drag something to the other screen they won't see it.
I guess I should say that PLP gaming wouldn't be a reason for me to go 20-30-20. I do love gaming on the center 30". For work, I do a lot of side-by-side code comparison and I'd probably be happier with a PPP set-up of some sort.
Next time, I'll probably go with a largish 120Hz monitor for...
Thank you for doing this.
Adaptive v-sync like the other 6 series cards
Draws less power and creates less heat
Can SLI them for less down the road
The Asus version looks like a great card. More stable, quieter, and cooler than reference design. Thanks again.

I'm tempted to agree with this, but I think it's a tad bit unfair. When EQ was around there wasn't near the competition. For a long while, there were really only four or five choices when it came to MMORPGs; now, there are tons PLUS there are consoles that help proliferate the short attention...
If you want to use only part of an SSD for caching, do you have to partition this space before using the SRT utility or will it allocate it for you using empty space on the drive?
From what I've read, setting SATA mode to RAID will function the same as AHCI for single drives; however, you don't want to just change it in BIOS after the O/S is installed; you'll most likely get a blue screen when you reboot. To change it, I believe it's a registry change first, then a reboot...
