Yes i`m running at a lower clock speed but overall i have much more cpu power as my E8400 had 2 x 4GHz cores giving 8GHz and the Q9450 has 4 x 3.4GHz giving 13.6GHz.
So for an extra 5.6GHz of cpu power i thought i would of gained more than 3.5 mins off the time it took.
I was running the benchmark from within winrar that was the problem once i extracted the files into its own folder it ran fine,my mistake.
Looking at the results from the E8400 in the list that was running just over 4GHz i`m pleased with my results.

Cant seem to get this benchmark to run,ive downloaded and installed AviSynth and the Benchmark.
When i load the x264_benchmark-720p.bat batch file and enter a name then enter the box just goes from my screen and nothing happens?
Maybe its just nero that is the problem and it cant fully utilise the quad.
Using the E8400 both cores were always 100% maxed out but ive just noticed using the quad that the 4 cores usually fluctuate between 70-80% and never hit 100%.
Used to have a E8400 running at 4GHz,my Q9450 is running at 3.4GHz.
I took note of the time it took me to convert a 700mb avi to a dvd iso in nero7 and that was 21m 54s.
With my Q9450 on the same setup it took me 18m 30s so not much of a difference,i thought it would of been much faster?
Anyone any tips on cleaning this?
On my Dell i used a microfiber cloth and it did pick the dust up but it doesnt on this benq it all just stays on the screen.
Does anyone play COD4 on this monitor as when i do i get a border on the top and bottom of my screen its been awhile since i played it but im sure i didnt get this with my previous 20" widescreen monitor.
EDIT
i had it on 1920x1080 thats why,my mistake.
Ian i got mine from...
Ive been on the lookout for a 24" for sometime now and if i get one it will be the FP241W.
Just one thing on my mind is that this monitor is more than 18 months old should i let that worry me?
ocuk are usually the most expensive when a new toy hits the shelves, hopefully scan will have the E8500 for £190.
Lamdatek have it for £185:

Just had the drives out and ran the benchmarks on another pc and they were the same,so i take it that there is something wrong with the drive thats giving me the slower access time.
Hi,
ive got two WD 500GB AAKS drives one for my boot drive and the other for storage.
now the boot drive gives me a access time of 20ms whilst the storage gives me 14ms,shouldnt the boot drive be about 14ms also?

Hi,
got my Deathadder today and set the two side buttons to v & 1 for voip and to bring my knife out.
The problem is altho these buttons work in normal desktop use they wont work whilst playing 2142.
Anyone else got this problem?
I used the grease that came with my Zalman 9700NT and was abit apprehensive at first as ive always used as5.
At the mo my E6600 at 3.4GHz is idling at 34c,altho it is pretty warm tonight.
The Zalman grease is much easier to apply so i think i`ll be using this in the future.
when running my e6600 at 333x9 i get 10400 in 06 with my 8800GTS but when i have it at 400x8 my score drops down to 4000?
my motherboard is a asus p5b deluxe, any ideas as to why its doing this?
