When I took my C++ class the book was for MS C++ and the only program the computer lab had was Borland C++. What a pain that was; you did learn how to program though. Maybe that was part of the plan. ;)
The poor girl's problem is that she doesn't know how to use a computer, not that it has...
Navigon 5100. Comes with free lifetime traffic. Much harder to input addresses than my Garmin 760 (wife's car), but then again it only cost me $127 refurbished at Ecost.com. You don't have to use the optional external traffic antenna or the power adapter, it works fine without it.
also..... just how much does this "liquid lithium-6" cost?
and..... hopefully, people will still be around 40 years from now; what do they do with that used up "liquid lithium-6" then?
It does tell you something... it tells you that there is little to gain by upgrading. What I want to know in a review is how a potential addition would change the performance of what I currently have.
I got this card and it works great. Noisy when the computer starts up, but quite after that. As long as you get the same warranty, why not save the 20 bucks as opposed to retail. I got no games with my card (retail) anyway, but make sure you get the cables & adapter with this deal.
retail...
I've never had any problems with ZZF; come to think about it, I've.never even had to return anything I bought from them. I use ZZF as much as the egg, the best price gets the sale.
I don't know about WOW, but I love my x1950xt. Other than when the computer starts up, I can't hear the fan and it plays my racing and flight sims with everything on max. I can't believe I got it for $180 new at the egg. :D
Got mine delivered yesterday and a 550 Watt powersupply to go with it. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck, I guess I will find out soon enough.
Installing it tomorrow, going to add 2 Seagate 7200.10 250 GB SATA drives too. Probably going to go Raid 1, but haven't decided yet.
MSI AGP...
Edit: Price is now $85, but there is a -$5 coupon... so it's still $80 (4/13)
Two days after I get 2 Seagate 7200.10 250GB SATA drives ($70 each) delivered for a Raid setup on my computer. I see this...
Seagate 7200.10 320GB SATA drive for $80 delivered with no rebate at the egg...
OK, so the guy shouldn't have labeled Vista as "a Lemon" and "unfit for any user"; that was a little drastic. But, had he not used those words, there would be much less of an uproar about this review. His reaction just shows how frustrated he became with trying to make it work. I can think of...
Why all those advertisements about buying a bigger than 55 inch TV to watch the SU**R B**L (I don't own those words) from all the stores? Are they not worried that they are contributing to this criminal behavior? Wouldn't they be liable for facilitating this crime wave?
Come on guys, the poor NFL is barely making any money on the "SU**R B**L" (I don't want any trouble for using words that I don't own). It's the same story as the music/movie companies, they need every cent; have a heart.
All I know is that traffic has been a pain today on Miami Beach and...
This will only be true until PCI Express 2.0 comes out in the next few months.
My point was that if I can get the same performance with a single AGP x1950 Pro vs a single PCI-e x1950 Pro and keep my current system, I can live with delaying the inevitable for a while.
On just about all the reviews I have read, the AGP versions of the X1950 Pro cards perform equal to or better than the PCI-e versions.
So there is a lot to be said for delaying the inevitable.
Must be something with the Lite-on drives because my 20X LH-20A1P drive has the same problem with the Ritek 16X disc at 6X. My NEC 3550A burned them just fine at 16X.
Edit: Problem fixed with firmware: KL05
The Corsair TWINX1024-4400C25PT worked in my current system (details in sig) @ 272 FSB @ 2.5-4-4-8-1T @ 2.70 volts without any problems.
I just bought a GeIL Ultra-X550 1GB Kit (because I could not find another set of the Corsair TWINX1024-4400C25PT anywhere) and was hoping it would play...
Thank you MDboyz, I just bought the Seagate 7200.10 320GB and picked up an external enclosure for the drive that is coming out of my computer while I was at it. Can't beat 28 cents per GB, shipped without having to wait for a rebate on this drive (at least at the moment, I am so jealous of that...
Probably the real reason they put heat shields on memory now days!
* nevermind, I just read the post that says you didn't put it in upside down with the pins up after all!
Back in the days of DOS around 3am in the morning, I remember seeing a message that said "are you sure you want to format your hard drive?" ... it was only after I hit the " y " that I realized what I had just done.
Moral of the story: pay attention to warning messages, especially...
If I could get my hands on one of those HIS X1950 AGP dual-slot cards with external exhaust for around $250 (or less) and sell my X800XL for at least $75, I would be a very happy camper.
There is no way I could update everything and come close to what I have for $175. I think I could make...
