so I'm running an evga 680i mobo (ugh!) and have 3 drives (SATA 3.0) in RAID 5, and I'm having lots of problems with RAID (I'm really hoping the problems are only related to RAID...). I was considering taking everything out of RAID, reformatting everything, and just running 3 separate drives...

So I just bought a DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router (draft-n just fyi). I haven't hooked it up yet nor do I have internet at my current apartment as I've just moved, but I've got a few questions about the router. I don't currently have the box with me, but apparently it can operate in 2.4Ghz...
I was looking at that one too, and it looks like it could be the best available right now.
I'm in a similar situation...looking for the "best" wireless router. however, my laptop (its somewhat old) has an integrated 802.11b wireless card, so I'm not sure how much that affects what I should...
looking for a cheap LCD HDTV for under $250 for my girlfriend. I'm looking for a TV, not a monitor, so I'm not sure I'm in the best forum. anyway, she needs something she'll be able to watch TV on right now (analog), and I'd like it to be a fairly decent panel and a TV she'll be able to use for...
good lord, GPU temp is 66-67C right now lol. I just got home from work, and left my PC on all day. it is also considerably cooler in my room right now (like 73F) while last night it was probably somewhere between 77-80F. I should also mention I just got my side panel fan yesterday and installed...
I guess I'm up for anything really. something that looks cool for sure and would look real nice on my 4:3 S-IPS panel, maybe something 3D that uses my video card. I'm slightly interested in a fish tank style screen saver, and I thought I read about one on here once awhile back
hah, well I'm not sure what the ambient temp refers to, but thats what it said in rivatuner 2.01. I imagine it refers to another sensor somewhere inside the case
last night I measured my temps some more. my peak GPU temp was 84C while playing a game, and the lowest was about 77C idle. I think...
rivatuner is reporting my core temp at 83C and my ambient temp at 68C. my PC is idle. I think the core temp is my GPU temp. I'm a noob with these programs, but how can I increase the speed of my fans, specifically my GPU fan? what about other options, such as after market cooling?
whats weird...
anyone else have this set up? my side panel fan literally pushes against my tuniq heatsink. I actually thought the fan would be a little lower on the panel, and not as large. I didn't realize it would push against my heatsink. everything seems to be operating just fine though. just curious if...
are my SATA HDs and DVD drive supposed to be detected as removeable devices in XP Pro? I thought there was a topic on this recently but I couldn't find it through search
also, I've notice some weird instances where my SATA DVD drive isn't detected, and other times where my PC makes that USB...
hmm, so I've been messing with some things tonight and it seems like it is peripheral related. I haven't tried resetting my BIOS or updating it yet
so before I was using my logitech (latest SetPoint drivers) keyboard and mouse as USB devices, but I began using my keyboard as a PS/2 device...
haven't tried that yet. the freezes generally occur after being on for awhile, and then I get the freeze that won't let me boot past the first CPU/Memory screen after a couple freezes in windows. so there might be a window where I can reset to default from the BIOS Screen or update my BIOS. it...
my random BSODs I think mostly went away when I turned off all of the NVIDA Network stuff that I had enabled. I think I may still have a couple random ones.
actually I came back to this thread because I'm getting similar problems now that you are having. at first I thought it was my mouse or...
yeah, I'm wondering if the original poster has installed the drivers. I know my load bar at the beginning of XP scrolls about 2.5 times and I've got the drivers installed. you report yours loads quickly too, and I assume have the drivers installed. the original poster says his PC boots slowly...
XP has been running fine for about 20-30 minutes now, no problems, odd. if I get any BSODs I'll uninstall the NVIDIA Forceware Network Access Manager. I recall not having any problems before I started changing those settings, maybe I'll also try putting them back to default before uninstalling...
lol, thats exactly the same thing that inspired me to start this thread. I read it on newegg and wanted to make sure, only I've only had this PC for a week now :P
really interesting...I've been in Vista now about 2 hours today, no BSODs, no errors what so ver
I'll load into XP and see what happens, if it BSODs I'm going to uninstall some of that nvidia garbage
how do I enable SATA300 on these? I read that I have to remove jumpers to do this, I'm not sure that I did that though. where would these jumpers be? I bought them OEM btw, and I have no idea if I set up SATA300 correctly
I've seen at least 2 of them, one of them definitely had "NV" in it, so it would be nvidia related. I can't remember the other. btw are BSODs hurting my PC in anyway?
great feedback, thanks guys. more feedback is appreciated of course
yeah I definitely want to try and rule out everything before I go through an RMA. RMAing would be a complete pain, and I don't want to resort to doing that as my first option. I definitely want to see if I can find something...
I think it voids the warranty, and I don't see how that would affect how the mobo performs other than slightly reducing some temps, which aren't a problem
anyway, I've got XP and Vista in a dual boot, and I've been using XP for a few days now. these BSODs started occuring yesterday. if the...
so I did my PC build recently and have been using my eVGA 680i A1 w/ P26 BIOS for about a week. everything has been working fine until now. I've had a few BSODs today, my first instinct was to think I got one of the bad boards I've been reading about for weeks. but I'm wondering if it could be...
I think its possible. ATI desperately needs something to gain back all the market share they continue to lose, cheap cards would be the way to go. they'll probably be selling at a loss too
problem is once the R600 comes out nvidia will release some more cards thus undercutting ATI lol. I have...
I was in this same position not too long ago. from my experience, the majority of people at the boards are people having problems in the first place. its not necessarily that something is bad, its just that people having problems flock to the net to find solutions (especially with pc parts!)...
yeah I think glossy's look real nice, and I was worried about this one looking grainy or toned down, but I haven't noticed it at all. the colors are very nice, very vibrant and solid. by solid I mean the uniformity in the screen is wonderful - no washed out colors. I don't notice any backlight...
I just did my PC build over the weekend and so I've really been able to test this monitor recently...let me say it looks incredible. I've tested games and general purpose type stuff and so far its amazing. some of the wallpapers in Vista feel like I'm actually looking at a high quality photo and...
yeah I've been following the forums for awhile now and can't find out much solid info about the stuff I have questions about. I'll be building my PC tonight (yay!) so I thought I'd ask so I'll have the info for when I decide to OC (maybe next weekend)
