I've not bought anything yet...
I think I'm pretty much set on the case as it's the perfect size, I really like the looks, I really like silverstone, etc.
I've just remembered I have a E6600 which may or may not work, lying around, so I'll try that first and if it doesn't work - get a 5400...
I think the 5750 draws 18W idling for 2d, 120ish idling 3d and 180ish on load. I don't mind that considering it won't be displaying anything most of the time. (which sounds like a weird thing to say, but you know what I mean.
Silverstone GD04
e5400 with a scythe shuriken
1.5TB HD
4GB mem
blue ray drive
and the two components i was really looking for the most advice on:
ASUS P5QL-CM iG43
ATI Radeon 5750 Passive
All help appreciated. Will be used for some gaming (won't be my main gaming machine) but...
Sweet - glad it's sorted :)
If you just stick your osx disk in once the win7 install has finished and run the setup from the bootcamp directory - sorts out sound, graphics mouse etc, etc, n/w supported out the box with win 7.
I also got the new touchpad driver for vista from the apple site...
I've just installed on my Ali MBP. (Boot camp).
Seems OK - Not had a play with the new features yet. Trackpad support could be better.
I've always been a Windows user until I got a MBP about a month ago. It's a really lovely piece or hardware. I never used Vista and I don't think os-X is...

I'd not heard of Larrabee before and did a quick wiki:
I assume these figures are without the use of the CPU or aren't they quite poor?...
Preliminary performance data
Benchmarking results from the recent SIGGRAPH paper, showing performance...

Hooray!
After wanting a decent wireless gaming headset for years, I got the Logitech Clearchat Wireless.
It's perfect, good sound, huge mute button on the right headphone (or muting when you move the mic boom up).
Works to about 25 feet through brick walls, but it don't really care...
The latest Nividia; 175.16
Running @ Core 609Mhz, Mem 998Mhz, Shaders 1482Mhz.
I could probably get a little higher o/c on the cards if I really try.
I'm currently using XP32. shortly gonna go to Vista 64.
Thanks Paul.
What's the difference between the
Real Power M1000
and the
Real Power Pro 1000
apart from the Pro being more expensive, not component and not really available yet in the UK?
I can't see any difference in specs. Also I guess I could go for the 850W?
Hi,
I'm looking for a new PSU to run 2 x 8800GTX Sli and overclocked e8400 - and perhaps be future proof for triple SLI.
I'm looking at what I expect to be the usual suspects;
Corsair HX1000 (only one that could do triple sli I think)
TT Toughpower 1000
Akasa Powermax 1000
Which is...
Yeah - already dropped back to stock and tried removing power for anything i didn't need. If it's not power, the only other possibility would be the sli bridge i think.
UPDATE: Definately not software - built a new OS on another disk and it had the same issue. :(
Will try running additional power from another system next week.
Hi,
Both cards work fine individually. Can't see a BIOS setting. I have the bridge. I did get the SLI capable message and enabled OK. Tried unplugging superfluous fans and 2nd disk to no avail.
There appears to be a fair bit of evidence that the PSU should run 8800GTX's in SLI such as the video review here which i grabbed this image from;
plus a few german sites eg. here
My system is obviously very similar to both.
Also, after it shuts down (after running a 3d app) it will...
Hi all :)
I have the cards powered from the four 12v rails...see image below (labelled PCI Express)
I use three of the other connectors to power two hard disks, dvd and case fans (via Akasa controller)
I use the two fixed cables for the mobo.
There's a review with more detail...
Ar$e - thanks AuxNuke.
Can't believe 700W's not enough.
Now - can I find a near silent 800w PSU? or (as I can fit a second psu in my TJ07) just buy a low power silent psu in and run the everything else of that?
Hi - they're a German company - I think the quality is pretty good. (they certainly cost enough: $200)
I'm thinking that perhaps, I may just be running out of juice?
Hi all,
I've just spent my entire birthday trying to get my 2nd 8800GTX running in SLI.
Everything seemed to be going fine;
Removed the HR-03 on my stock Nvidia 8800GTX and replaced it with a AC Accellero Extreme.
Removed the stock cooler from my new XFX 8800GTX (slight factory...
So what kind of temp difference do you get between running fans at min and max voltage?
I'm running at 4Ghz and have overclocked my 8800GTX on air and am running all my fans at minimum.
I do not want it to get any louder - I'd prefer it quiter.
The only reason I'm wanting to go w/c...
Thanks everyone...esp. Arcy :)
'just enough to do really' well sounds perfect.
I am talking about the black ice quad and I'll be running the E8400 @ 4.
Will I be able to run the fans at minimum rpm (Yate loons - 900 RPMish)
I have a TJ07, so I know I can get a second loop with a...
Ok that sheet says:
'VID Voltage Range: 0.85V 1.3625V'
and describes VID as....
'VID Voltage Range: The voltage range set by the VID signals as a reference to the VR output voltage to be delivered to the processor Vcc pins. For more details, please refer to the relevant processor...
I seem to recall from reading that intel spec sheet that it was talking about VID with the 1.3625 figure?
Not knowing much about it I can only assume that this is different from vcore?
My vcore in CPUz is 1.368v
My VID in Core Temp is 1.1125v
The sheet is way too technical for me to...
I'm stable at 4Ghz (444x9) @ 1.368v
Temps reported in Speedfan 4.3.4 Beta are 40 idle 57 load
Core temp's (even today's 0.97 release) temps still seem wrong to me compared to BIOS.
I'm gonna try real temp later tonight. Is anyone convinced about any temp monitoring software working on...
Hi all,
I bought a TJ07 a while ago with watercooling in mind but got scared  and went with air instead.
Having been happily running an E6600 at 3.4 for a year with all my fans running on minimum I got a 8800GTX for xmas and replaced my 7900GT XXX.
Blimey those things run hot...
