How much CPU power does a Vent server need? I had one of the single core Atom chips in a netbook and it would lag on websites with flash... So if the Vent server needs any real cpu power it could cause issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if the board is maxing out at 463fsb. That's pretty fast. I'm not sure what the average fsb is for P45 boards though. It is possible you need to bump up the termination voltage. I've heard that quad cores tend to need a bump there at high fsb speeds.

Well it only has 3gb of ram, so no point to go 64bit unless you plan to upgrade to 4gb. And Win7 is pretty nice. So I'd suggest going with that, plus XP will have it's support pulled sooner or later. Also just so you know, your link send you to some here.com or something website.

The case with the 3870 in it is a SG01. I'm thinking of flipping the exhaust on the top to be an intake as that would feed cool air right into the card. Though I'll not be gaming much on it, so I probably shouldn't be too worried about the heat as it idled at a decent enough temp.

The DFI one is the only AM3 one I've ever seen. Though the biggest potential issue with it is the PCIe x16 slots are only electrical x8. Might it make more sense to get a single x16 board and just upgrade to a newer card when the card you get is starting to get too slow for newer games?
